i have passed class 12 exam in 2011 can i give iit exam this year

IIT JEE is conducted annually for admission to 15 IITs, IT BHU and ISM Dhanbad. Number of seats is around 8000. One has to face tough competition to get into 2% of the candidates that get seats in IIT. To ensure only best candidates can sit for IIT jee certain criteria has been made. Take a look on it
Eligibility Criteria

• Gen/DE category candidates should get at least 60% marks in qualifying examination. SC/ST/PD candidates must get 55% mark in QE.
• Qualifying Examination includes 10+2 by central board or state board of India, 3 years duration diploma from AICTE recognised institute, two year pre university examination, final examination of 2 year course by Joint service wing of NDA or any other equivalent examination.
• Candidates should be 17 years old. Upper age limit for general candidates is 25 years. Reserved category candidates get 5 years concession in age limit.
• A candidate can attempt IIT Jee for two consecutive year. Candidates should be passed in the previous year or appearing in QE.
• In case a candidate has taken admission earlier in any of IITs, IT BHU, ISMU paying full fees is not eligible for IIT jee.

IIT Jee has two papers. Both papers have separate section on Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Duration of each paper is 3 hours. In general examination is held 2nd Sunday of April.
