I am doing my b.tech in biotechnology.I am from tamilnadu...
What about the scope and career oppurtunity for biotechnology in india ,, moreover in tamil nadu........Can i be able to good job after doing my b.tech or its a must to do my higher studies....in mtech ....please please guide me ...

Yes there is lots of scope in Biotechnology. Its an emerging field and more and more jobs are coming out for biotech students.

My sister is doing her biotech and she herself got placed well in a Ranbaxy and a well paying job too!!

So dont worry about the scope. Scope is everywhere you just have to work more hard in that field if you really wanna be successful in it.

And as you said you have chosen this firld because of passion in biology. So its really great that you have passion in what you have taken.

There are lots of job opportunities in Biotech in many pharmaceutical company and other related companies too.

A magazine has considered biotechnology as an emerging field which will surely match up with other branches in coming years

The Government of India provides large-scale employment to most biotechnologists in its research laboratories.

sir i want to know the future of doing btec biotechnology and mtec with same subject is it bright or not

after b.tech there is no jobs in india,you may get jobs with that qualification but you wont get any satisfaction what you will do.so m.tech is must for getting good job at anvy ewhere

There are more job opportunity for Btech biotechnology since if you want to equip yourself very strong you can do higher studies.

no this is not compulsory to do Mtech ..Btch in Biotechnology is enough for the good jobs in India...

you can try any research field..

medicine ,n\medical instruments sectors etc.

The job prospects of biotechnology is very high in all over India....

Lab technician

Research associate

Research scientist

Engineer (Chemical, Electrical, Environmental and Industrial)

Regarding jobs only elite colleges have campus interviews for B.Tech and M.tech biotech.."Very High competition"...companies may select students in single digits..number of companies for campus interview can also be few...we had few companies,they selected only few students out of hundreads of students..

DO M.tech only if you want to go for phd..Masters from a premier institutes like IIT,IISC,will get good job.. becoz when jobs require high level skills,companies go for top colleges..others have to struggle hard...some graduates start up their own bussiness in biotech products..

Nowadays clinical research jobs are hot for a science graduates..some institutes offer diploma course after msc or b.tech up to six months and place as clinical research associate..i dont know the name of institutes..

You can also go as JRF but its not permanent job..you have to do M.tech and PhD after that for puckka full time research position..

Job prospects are so less...if you plan to do MS with good GRE then opt for biotec ...otherwise windup your passion and go for other Mechanical/IT related courses... No research hope or job hope in this field...you have to sacrfice ur life in this field...
