Thiruvalluvaram university came into existence in the year 2012 and it was established by the Tamil Nadu Government. The university offering courses under UG, PG, M Phill and PhD level and the list of the courses under these level are as follows :

Thiruvalluvaram university does not offer Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.ED). The university offers B.ED and as well as M.ED course that can be done only after passing the bachelor level of study with 50% in any stream from recognized university. Admission is done on the basis of entrance examination only.
