Details of becoming a Customs Officer through UPSC? Engineering graduates are eligible?


Sir, your experts had told that to become a customs officer an exam in UPSC has to be written, please describe it in details. And is a B.E degree is eligible to it. Please reply to me sir.

Yes, you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination conducted by UPSC.

The eligibility to appear for examination is :-

Candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university.

Candidate's age must be between 21-32 years.

So, you are eligible to appear for examination. The examination is conducted in three stages as Preliminary, Mains and Interview and you have to qualify in all stages for final selection.

# Yes, Engineering Graduates are eligible to apply for Customs officer post and to join as customs officer, you have to clear the Civil Services examination conducted by UPSC.
# The educational qualification required to apply for this job is Graduation pass or an equivalent examination pass from UGC approved college or university.
# And the age limit to apply for this post is 21-32 years for General category, 21-35 years for OBC candidates and ex-servicemen, 21-37 years for SC and ST category candidates.
# Candidates who are applying for this post must be mentally and physically fit.
# The selection procedure of customs officer post is preliminary exam, main exam, personal interview and medical fitness test.
# Preliminary exam is objective type and is only qualifying nature and is conducted to shortlist the candidates for main exam.
# Main exam is descriptive type and personal interview will be conducted to the candidates who will quality in main exam.
