It is very interesting that Working in Army is very exciting for the technical people like us it is more amazing because we don't know the exact world of Army it is the great opportunity for us to know about it. For this Army has introduced two schemes that is UES: University Entry Scheme for Engineers who are in their pre final year of the course. TGC : this is also for Engineers but who have already completed their engineering in the year of applying for the entrance. SSC(t) Is again a separate thing this is the acronym of Short Service Commission officer fetching examination. Whereas the above two i.e., UES and TGC are permanent Commissioned officer range Openings. When UES is Notified it will be in the pre final year we have to apply now and then they will intimate the SSB date if qualified in the prelim round in the year of your final i.e., the year in which you will take degree The course duration for both TGC and UES is one year only. UES selected candidates will be trained in IMA Dehradun for One year . in the month after july or so. TGC will be held Twice a year so you have opportunity in the months of Oct Nov and also Apr may Vacancies are not fixed for TGC they may vary year to year but Vacancies are fixed for UES i.e., 60 per each notification i.e., each year These are the basic differences of UES and TGC as per my knowledge if any disperancies kindly forgive all The best Regards ~AdityA~ |

Respected sir/madam,

You can apply for UES only once but for TGC you can apply for more than one time. UES (University Entry Scheme): In this mode the Army Selectors visit your campus and final year students are eligible for this scheme. They will take an interview round and select some candidates for the 5 day training round from all over the college from India. So you can apply for this scheme only once during in the final year of your bachelor's. TGC (Technical Graduation Course): In other Hand, in case of TGC the candidate can directly apply for the Indian army through online mode. They can fill their qualification and on the basis of merit list candidate will short-list for 5 days training. You can apply for this course more than one time. The Eligibility For both course are same: Candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Bhutan or a subject of Nepal. Candidate must hold a qualification of bachelor's or in the final year of the bachelor's course candidate are also eligible. Candidate should not have any previous criminal record. The maximum age to apply for the scheme is limited to 27 years. There is not any age relaxation for any type of category. |

Re: Difference between UES and TGC entry?
UES is while you are in third year so that before final year if you clear SSB then you will start getting stipend while in final year and on completion you will join IMA on full wages around 56000/- per month. but as you are already in final year now you can join on completion of your degree under TGC .

UES eligibility criteria are: Age: 19-25 years. Education qualification: Engineering degree in notified stream Training: 1 year in IMA, Dehradun TGC eligibility criteria are: Age:20-27 years Education qualification:Engineering degree in notified stream Training: 1 year in IMA, Dehradun Not much difference, only difference is that in TGC certain engineering course can apply for the TGC, while for UES all branches can apply. |
