Bank PO jobs are in good demand these days. This is because of the vast development of banking sector in India and the comforts and other benefits that are being provided to these positions.

Hence, the number of candidates who attempt bank exams are going on increasing.

The selection procedure for these positions is by
-Written Test
-Interview.

There will be negative marking in the written exam. The written exam consists of various questions from
-Reasoning
-Quantitative Aptitude
-General Awareness
-General English
-Computer Knowledge

One should have to secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the sections in order to get through the written exam.

The eligibility criteria for bank exams will be slightly different from bank to bank.

Academic Qualification :
-One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. Some banks may put certain percentage of marks in Graduation as the eligibility criteria and it will be 55%.
-Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation can also apply for Bank Exams for POs but they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview.

Age criteria :
-One should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for bank PO exams.
-Relaxation is there in percentage of marks and in upper age limit for the candidates of SC/ST category.

From this academic year, IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) is conducting common written exam for the recruitment of Probationary Officers for 19 public sector banks.

One should have completed Graduation in order to be eligible for this course.

Now there is a common exam for getting the job of bank po .This exam is known as IBPS .the eligibility criteria for IBPS are as follows :
  • Graduate in any stream

A new restriction has been imposed on the number of attempts for the candidates. For general number of attempts is 4, for OBC it is 7 and for SC/ST.

Firstly, you should be a graduate from any stream with an average of 60% marks in your graduation. Secondly, your age should be min. 21 and max. 30. So, this is the eligibility criteria for PROBATIONARY OFFICERS exam.

Different bank have different eligibility criteria so i will try to tell you in the details about all these banks eligibility criteria.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

IBPS::

Your age should be minimum 20 years and not more then 30 years.There is some relaxation given to reserved caste students in upper age limit .For SC/ST its a 5 years and for OBC its a 3 years .
You must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

SBI ::

For PO::

You should not be less then 21 and more then 30 years
You should have completed your graduation in any streams with 65% or more.

Bank Of Baroda ::

For PO::
You should not be less then 21 and more then 30 years
You should have completed your graduation in any streams .

Punjab National Bank

For PO::
You should be graduate in any discipline with 50% marks or equivalent qualification.
You should be between 20 years and 25 years.

my date of declaration of graduation result is 5 july 2011.however in advertisement the banks r saying that result should havebeen awardrd before or on 1 july 2011.am i still eligible?

BANK PO ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

1.Educational qualification :
The candidate must complete graduation with god marks.[above 60% in very good]

2.Age limitation :
The age of the candidate must be within 21 to 30 years.

Syllabus :

Reasoning Questions:-
The reasoning part of the question paper examines your reasoning abilities and mental aptitude. So, it is imperative that you are prepared both verbally and non-verbally. For verbal tasks, you should prepare analogy, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, decision making, Problem on Age Calculation, Arithmetical Reasoning, etc.

Quantitative Aptitude Questions:-

I have scored 45% marks in graduation(B.Com). Can I apply for PO or clerk exam2012? Kindly tell me about both of these posts separately. is it true that in specific bank percentage does not matters and only being a graduate is enough. Do banks change its eligibility criteria every year. please reply soon.

In order to be eligible for PO exam of any Bank of India, one need to consider the below mentioned points:

1. Age Limit ::

General Candidate => 21 to 30 years
OBC Candidate => 21 to 33 years
SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen Candidate => 21 to 35 years
VH/OH(General) Candidate => 21 to 40 years
VH/OH(OBC) Candidate => 21 to 43 years
VH/OH(SC/ST) Candidate => 21 to 45 years


2. Qualifications ::

Educational qualifications should be as follows:

* Aggregate 60% in 10 + 2 class or in a diploma after 10th class. It is important to notice that this diploma course should be of at least 2 years duration. Also, these diplomas need to be regular courses with recognized universities. In addition to it, a person should get more than 55% aggregate in graduation.

* For SC/ST and PWD categories, a person should have at least 55% aggregate in 10 +2 and 50% aggregate in graduation.

*If a person has not done graduation and got enrolled in professional courses like CA, CS etc after 10 + 2 then the requirement is passing marks in professional course. The eligibility criteria for 10 + 2 remain same.


Once you are sure that you meet the eligibility criteria for the post of PO exam for any Bank of India then you need to prepare for some series of examinations. First and foremost, there is a written examination which needs to be cleared to get to the next level of group discussion and Interview. So, start preparing today for these exams.

IBPS - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts CWE ( Common Entrance Exam ) for these positions -

1. Bank PO
2. Bank Clerk
3. Specialist Officers
4. RRBs

Eligibility criteria to apply for IBPS Bank PO Exam -

1. Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.

2. Age - 20 -30 years.(for OBC -20-33 years, For SC/ ST -20 -35 years)

Exam Pattern -

There are five papers. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

1. Quantitative Aptitude
2. Reasoning
3. General awareness
4. Computer awareness
5. English

All these have 50 objective questions except english which has subjective questions also.

And the condidate either must be indian, nepal or Bhutan

Educational Qualification is Degree

Relaxation of Upper Age limit:

Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years

The eligibility of Bank PO is different for each banks. However almost all the banks require a graduation degree to be eligible for this post. There are some private banks that requires some prior experience before applying for the Bank PO job.


The best option is to apply for IBPS Bank PO Exam. In this exam 19 Public Sector banks participates. What this means is that after clearing the exam, you can apply for Bank PO job in any of the 19 participating banks. This is the key advantage of the IBPS Bank PO Exam.

~Minimum age should be 21 years. Maximum age should be 30 years.

~Age relaxation is applicable for the reserved category candidates.

Examination Pattern:-

The written exam will include both objective and descriptive questions. On getting good marks in both the sections you will be called for the group discussion and interview session. A maximum of three people is generally called for one vacant seat.

You need to secure minimum 40% of marks in the written exam if you are a general category candidate. There is 5% relaxation for the reserved category candidates.

Graduation is the educational qualification for the Bank PO(Probationary Officer) exam.


The qualification for bank po exam is same for almost all the banks.


IBPS conducting the PO exam for 19 banking sectors.

The candidate age limits for this examination is 21 years and 30 years at the time of appearing for this examination,relaxation is given to the various reserved categories.

IBPS PO :-Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university or equivalent qualification and candidate age limits for this examination is 20 years and 30 years at the time of appearing for this examination.Upper age limits is given to the various reserved categories.

P.O. Probationary Officer, the exam for which is conducted generally by SBI and IBPS(Institute of Banking Personal Selection) and also by many other private banks.

Eligibility of Bank P.O. Exam:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National
-Should have completed Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognised University, there is no percentage of marks criteria for SBI & IBPS P.O. Exam but there are some percentage criteria ranging from 50% to above 60% for some private bank P.O. exam.
-Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.
-Should be a computer literate one

The selection is through written exam followed by [personal interview.

The post of Bank PO that is Bank Probationary Officer in any bank in India is considered as white color job. To be a Bank PO you need to qualify in this examination. Different bank conducts separate examination for Bank P.O. recruitment. As the minimum eligibility criteria to appear for this examination is a graduate degree from a recognized College / University in any stream like Arts / Commerce / Science or Engineering etc may appear in this examination.

Generally, candidates who get finally selected in Bank P.O. examination may ask to work on probation for 2 years period.

General eligibility criteria for appearing in Bank P.O. examination are mentioned here:
1. You must be India National
2. You are a graduate degree recognized from UGC in any stream. (which I mentioned
above)
3. You must have attained age of 21 years but not completed 30 years of age
4. Knowledge of working with computers.

Dear friend the eligibility criteria for Bank PO exam is:-

Candidate should be an Indian citizen.
