I am rajat khandelwal, studing in class 12 and opted commerse as my subject. I want to be a hotel manager in a reputed hotel like taj. Hello Rajat, you can do Bachelor in Hotel management course after your 10+2 exams. You can even go for diploma in hotel management. Once you enter this field you will be able to work in reputed hotels like TAJ and Oberoi Group.

You can do BHM(Bachelor of Hotel Management) after completion of your BTech.
However, I would strictly not advice you to do so.
I will recommend you to add to the engineering prowess of the country, rather than changing you stream.

Is there any difference between Hotel Management course and Bachelor of Hotel Management?

Hotel management is one of the most rapidly growing sector in India and one of the most promising too. After pursuing this course lots of avenues will open for you and job opportunities of this course is very encouraging.

Different types of courses are available ranging from full time degrees to diploma courses. B.A., B.Sc and BBA in hotel management can be done apart with BHM (Bachelor in Hotel Management). Apart from this you can also do diploma, certificate or craftsmanship course in hotel management. Other than Post graduation in hotel management after graduation one can also opt for MBA in hotel management.

For the bachelor's degree in hotel management you just need to secure minimum 45%-50% of marks to get a good college.

For the post graduation degree you need to complete your graduation in any discipline with not less than 45% of marks.

For the diploma course though only an SSLC certificate or its equivalent is more than enough. You just need to secure 40% of marks at 10th class to pursue this course.

You can do this course from Government Hotel Management colleges


If you want to do the 3 years Bachelors Level Hotel Management course than you should apply to the NCHMCT OR National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance test for the Hotel Management Course.


Eligibilty to apply for this written Test is:

Educational Qualifications: 12th Pass in any stream
English should be one of the subjects in class 12th


AGE- Max age to apply for the General and OBC candidates is 22 years
