Eye-sight correction allowed for joining National Defense academy?
Dear Sir,
My eye sight is (-50). Pls tell me Can I join National Defence Acedemy. |

Eye Sight: For Army - To read in a distant vision chart with each eye, with or without glasses, Myopia: Not more than 2.5 D, Hypermetropia: Not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism. For Navy - Distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6. Near vision N-5 each eye, Color vision CPI (MLT). Myopia: Not to exceed 0.75 D in either eye, Hypermetropia: Not more than 1.5 D (better eye) and 2.5 D (worse eye) For Army - Distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6. Near vision N-5 each eye, Myopia: Nil, Hypermetropia: +2 D Sph. Astigmatism +0.75 Color Vision CPI (MLT). |

National Defense academy Vision standard for candidates For Army: A candidate should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye with or without glasses. Myopia should not be more than 2.5 D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism. For Navy: A candidate should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye. Limits of Myopia -0.75. Limits of Hypermetropia +1.5. Binocular vision III. Limits of colour preception I. For Air force: Candidates who habitually wear spectacles are not eligible for Air Force, Minimum distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia, Colour vision CP-I Hypermetropia: + 2.0 D Sph Manifest Myopia : Nil Retinoscopic Myopia : - 0.5 in any Meridian permitted. Candidates who are appearing for the NDA exam must fulfill the following phyical requirements:
Eye Sight: A candidate should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye with or without glasses. Myopia should not be more than 2.5 D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism. Army: The colour vision standard, will be (CPIII) for Army. A candidate should be able to recognise red and green colours. Navy: Uncorrected without glass: 6/9 Corrected with glass: 6/6 Limits of Myopia: -0.75 Limits of Hypermetropia: +1.5 Binocular vision: III Limits of colour preception: I Air Force Candidates who habitually wear spectacles are not eligible for Air Force, Minimum distant vision :6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia, Colour vision CP-I Hypermetropia : + 2.0 D Sph Manifest Myopia : Nil Retinoscopic Myopia : - 0.5 in any Meridian permitted. Sir mine eye-site is 5 and 4.5 D. I s there any possibilities of mine of getting selected in CDS.
as recently in above queries i read that one can remove the defect using lenses??? but he/she should posses any kinda laser surgery!! |
