Is Gate exam needed for pharmacy students or not?

Till the last time GATE was for Postgraduation courses in pharmacy as well but this time there will be no GATE exam for pharmacy students according to a notification released by GATE website. Further the notification says that there will be another GATE like examination for pharmacy graduates for which information will be available in the near future.

GATE 2010 is not for pharmacy.

GATE is not required for pharmacy this time around.
there is going to be separate exam.

no gate exam for masters in pharma from this year ..........u will have toappear for individual exams in different universities.....

No GATE exam is only for the B.Tech engineers student to take admission in M.Tech.

in order to facilitate admission of Pharmacy graduates in M.Pharm as also to award fellowships/scholarships to Pharmacy graduates, AICTE decided to organize and conduct an examination in the name of Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) with effect from academic year 2010-11.

No its not at all required for pharmacy students but GATE is those who wants to go for a master degree for example to do Mtech many colleges take in admission through Gate scorecard.

You all must be aware with the fact that IIT`s have announced to discontinue GATE for subject code PY (Pharmacy) next year. There will not be GATE 2010 for Pharmacy.

No, GATE is not required for B.pharm students.Instead of that AICTE along with M.S college is conducting a test called G-PAT 2010 on may 2nd.This test is along with JAM exam.Prepare well and succeed.

no gate is no more required for m pharmacy you will have to give other entrance exams

GPAT is the alternative of gate for the pharmacy students and for rest it is CET all the best and good luck for the exams

hello friend gate is now over and replaced with a new exam called as GPAT
syllabus is same as that of gate exam and now admissions wto pg courses of pharmacy will be based on this exam and its score is valid for 1 year only

no, from this year GATE is not for M.Pharmacy. it is now replaced by CET (Common Entrance Test).
you can also give other exams for getting admission in M.Pharmacy like NIPER

for pharmacy there are not required gate entrance exam for pharamcy admission you get good score in 12th scienece in whatever group :

Actually to pursue our masters degree in pharmaceutical sciences we are needed to write a entrance exam , before last 2 years it is GATE wxam for eligibility into M.PHARMACY but from from 2010 it is replaced with GPAT(GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST)..

My dear friend,you can apply for the GATe examination,you should not exceed 3 years from the date of your graduation..
Eligibility criteria

*Students who are Bachelor degree holders(engineering/architecture after 12th) are eligible for applying to the test...
*students studying final year,or doing 3rd year are also eligible...
*Master degree holders of any group and who are in final year are also eligible...
*Students who are pursuing 2nd year or studying final year of master degree programs are also eligible...
*Candidates who are qualified in the professional examinations like UPSC/IBPS are also eligible...

No, GATE is not required for Pharmacy.
In pharmacy, there is GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) which is for the students who want to pursue M.Pharm from good reputed colleges and avail a Scholarship given by AICTE on monthly basis.
GPAT score card is valid for 3 years and it is conducted once a year in the month of Jan/Feb.
