Yes, you can appear for GATE. Bachelor degree in engineering from any recognized institution is the basic qualification required. No specific percentage requirements are there for attending GATE. Qualified candidates with enough score can find admission in NIT, IIT, etc. You can try for M.Tech in CSE, Information Technology or Communication Engineering.

GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is conducted by IISc and IITs jointly every year .
You are B.Tech. in Engineering hence you are eligible to apply for GATE. You have to give GATE in your respective discipline means if you are computer science engineer then you have to select computer science subject in the application. Those who qualify GATE are eligible for following: -Stipend during M.Tech. from a AICTE approved college. -Junior Research Fellowships -Job in PSUs like GAIL, SAIL, BHEL, NTPC etc. PSUs hire engineers on the basis of GATE score hence if you are willing to join them then qualify GATE. If you get a good percentile in GATE then you can get admission IIT for M.Tech . course. So prepare for GATE if you want to have a bright future in your field.
