What is the procedure in selecting candidates for Ph.D?
I did my M.Phil in English through K.S.O.U and I would like to pursue my PhD. When do the admissions for PhD start? How to apply? I am working as a teacher in Republic of Maldives since 2005, teaching English for IGCSE students of Cambridge University, London. I Get my year end holidays in the month of November. If necessary I can take leave and attend your call for admission to PhD. Please let me know what I should do.
I also completed my Master Degree in Philosophy and I wish to do an M.Phil or PhD in Philosophy.
Please let me know which one can be done at my doorstep.

well, an entrance test is usually conducted by the university. you will have to write that if u dont have M.Phil or NET..................You need to have completed your post-graduation in english, though some universities also accept students who have completed their M.A. in sociology or history for a Ph.D. in english. So you need to check with the University where you intend to pursue your Ph.D. Also, you should not have got less that 50% at the post-graduation level..............
