i m doing b.tech mech engg
5th sem from PTU i have to got 70% marks till 4th sem nd 10th 60.2% nd 12th 66.6%
i want prepare GATE Exam
for get the job in mech core company

I have cleared GATE 2013 in EC with 97.48 percentile, 43.67 marks and WITHOUT COACHING.
Since it's right time for you to start I am suggesting you my way of doing it-
1. NPTEL- these are free video lectures available on internet bt iits and iisc, download them and watch them, also at the same time mar your little notes which may come handy in pre exam time. ( I use to note the topic, lecture no. and its time on video when it starts)
2. Don't go for full course of GATE, rather select few topics and master them, and be confident about them. ( Do this very cautiously after looking at previous year papers and your intrest)
3. Buy a book on previous year papers(chapter wise will be good) & solve Qs on your prepared and chosen chapters.
4. Subscribe to INI (Inspire & Ignite), well practiced strategy to prepare and attempt the paper has been given and it will guide you and inform you about the admission process in the end.
5. In your final year do join a test series program of good institute to practice your strategy and time management and to improve.
6. It will be good if you have a friend circle to discuss and solve problems.
7. You can even refer to your friend's notes who are taking coaching on otherwise have notes; to get rid of misconceptions.

study the basics of mechanical engineering properly and join some coaching centers that you feel worth. concentrate on the subjects you are weak.make sure that you work hard and achieve the goal. at last i just want to say "stay hungry stay foolish''

Don't worry about the percentage. concentrate on the concept and learn the subjects which carry more marks in gate.Especially
1.General Ability
2.Engineering Mathematics
practice these more and also your core subjects which have more weightage.
Also solve previous question papers.Visit GOAPS website for the syllabus.

hello sir , you check the below link for details about GATE

You can appear for GATE exam, if you are in final year of your graduation or have been passed your graduation.
In this exam, pre-final year candidates cannot appear.

For preparation of GATE exam
- collect syllabus with related to your stream.
- collect previous year questions papers to understanding the pattern of exam.
- collect study materials which is easily available in market.
- be consistence in your study, as this is the key of success.
- also, you can join coaching institute for better result.

Percentage in your graduation doesn't matter,but keep your percent above the criteria.
For better preparation of gate exam, you should collect the syllabus and questions papers related to your stream.
After that, study material and also should have papers solutions with key,which is better for understanding.
Be consistent in your study and schedule your time table for study.
