CA refers to Chartered Accountancy and same is professional degree course after completing which one becomes a Chartered Accountant.

Further the whole CA course is divided into three stages which includes (i) Common Proficiency Test ( CPT ), (ii) Integrated Professional Competence Course ( IPCC ) and (iii) the final stage course.

As far as you are concerned about the duration of CA course then it is at least 4.5 years through CPT route and 3 years through Direct Entry Scheme.

Through Direct Entry Scheme there is the provision of exemption of CPT for which one is required to have completed bachelor degree in commerce stream with 55% marks ( or 60% in case of other stream ) from a recognized university.
