Does OBC certificates comes with validity? Does it gets expired after a certain period of time? For, how long OBC certificate are valid?

The OBC certificate consists of two parts :
First part indicates that the concerned person belongs to a community listed as OBC(Other Backward Classes) and the second part indicates that the candidate does not fall in the creamy layer.

While the OBC status of a candidate may change only when the community of the concerned candidate is removed from the OBC list, his/her creamy layer status may change any time. In view of it, it is not possible to determine a fixed valodity of OBC certificate.

The Other Backward Class certificate is issued on basis of income during a financial year. So, its validity is one year. As per latest rule of Central government, income limit of 8 lacs per annum and below are under non creamy layer and those above this limit are under creamy layer of OBC.

Non creamy layer candidates are eligible for benefits of reservation, either it is reduction in age limit, cut offs, vacancies etc.

The validity of Other Backward Class certificate is one year from date of issue.

Recently, Central government increased income limit for identifying creamy and non creamy layer between OBC. It is now 8 lacs per annum.

Non creamy layer candidates can avail benefits of reservation. For this, their parent's income must be below 8 lacs.

No obc certificate does not comes with validity. It doesn't expired after certain period of time. But the age required to join any competition or university for this if ur age is satisfied then you can use your certificate and if your cross then this obc certificate is not valid.

There is no validity period for the OBC-NC(non cremy layer) certificate. But in general case it is considered to be 3 years and this is to ensure that the candidate non cremy layer status has not got changed.

It may be considered valid even afer a period of 3 years with a self declaration in the format given at the official website. But in practice it shouold be made again after a period of 3 years.
