Hello Sir, I'm Mounika from Chennai Bharat University I'm studying B.Tech first year. Which year CGPA they look for getting GATE or jobs for General category and what is the good percentage to apply for GATE?

As per the updated eligibility criteria for appearing in GATE, the minimum education required for appearing in the GATE is a B.E./B.Tech. degree in concerned discipline from a recognized university. Candidates pursuing 3rd year or final year of their degree course are also eligible.

Further, there is no requirement of minimum percentage of marks for appearing in the same examination but certain IITs or PSUs do set their own criteria while offering admission in M.Tech programs or PSUs jobs. In general, the minimum percentage of marks required for M.Tech admissions in IIT or PSU jobs is around 60% ( or 65% in some cases) which is equivalent to 6.5 (or 7 ) CGPA.

As per the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2021 eligibility criteria, candidates having completed their B.E./B.Tech. degree course in relevant subject are eligible for appearing in GATE 2021 in their concerned paper. Further, candidates pursuing third year or final year of their degree course are eligible too.

Further, there is no minimum percentage of marks required for appearing in the GATE as well as there is no age limit.
