The %age criteria is not needed in the ips exam .The only thing is you have done your graduation from recognized university and age limit is;
21-30 yrs For OBC and SC/ST the age limit are 21-33 and 21-35 yrs respectively. And no. of attempts are 7 and no limit respectively. |

Re: How much percentage is required to appear for IPS exam? What are the advantages for minority students
There are no advantages for the minority community students. By advantages I believe you mean if there are any relaxations. Unfortunately there aren't for minorities.
There are however relaxation but only for the reserve category candidates meaning the lower caste candidates such as SC/ST/OBC. Otherwise there are no such relaxations on offering. Since you are Bachelor of Commerce student, it makes you eligible for the Indian Police Service. However you must first complete the graduation to apply for the Civil Service Examination. As far as percentage is concerned, there is no specific criteria here. You just have to complete the graduation and that will make you eligible for the Indian Police Service. You don't need to worry about obtaining a certain percentage. Eligibility 1. The exam is restricted to only Indian nationals. 2. Bachelor degree holder candidates are eligible to apply. 3. As mentined earlier, no percentage criteria. Age Limit 1. Minimum age should be 21 and 30 is the maximum to apply. 2. Relaxation of 3 years in maximum age limit is given to OBC. 3. Both SC and ST can claim 5 years relaxation. Exam Pattern 1. Preliminary Exam - It contains 2 written tests. 2. Main Exam - There are 9 written tests. 3. Personal Interview |
