Hey friend,

Details About IAS:

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service

This exam is one of the Indian Civil Service exam and this exam is conducted every year for the IAS officer post.

As you are asking whether you are eligible for the IAS exam, you are ineligible to apply for the IAS Exam

Reason:

There are criteria's which are framed for the IAS exam and you need to satisfy them in order to apply for the IAS Exam.

There is nothing to be regarded on the age limit as you are eligible even being 28 years because the age limit needed for the exam states that the candidate must have 21-30 years and there are certain upper age relaxation for other candidates.

But as regarding the education qualification of yours which states that you are a +2 completed candidate which makes you ineligible to apply for the IAS Exam as the education qualification needed for the IAS exam states that the candidate must have completed a degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage.

You are not satisfying the education qualification needed for applying for the exam which makes you ineligible.

The candidates are selected for the post in 3 stages:

>> Preliminary exam
>> Main exam
>> Interivew

You can get more information regarding the exam at the official site of UPSC at http://www.upsc.gov.in

Dear Friend,
As you are 28 year old and class 12th pass then you will be not be eligible for the IAS examination. You have some chance only if you belongs to any reserved group like SC,ST or OBC.
The minimum educational qualification needed to appear in the IAS examination is Graduation and the maximum age permitted for the General category candidates is 30 years.
The age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years are given to OBC and SC/ST/PH candidates.
As you are already 28 and just passed class 12th you will not eligible for the examination.

So better luck next time.

Best Wishes......

If you want to become ias officer after completing 12 standard, but as you said your age is 28 years.from my opinion you have to join ignou study centre to complete your B.A.as your age is older.after completing your graduation, you can apply for IAS exam.but you didnot say that your belongs,so i suggest you that for ST/SC upto 5 years relaxation and no limits for attempting, general 3 years relaxation and 3 attempts .please keep going
