is it necessary to take coaching for IIT or JEE ?...Please tell me the details

IIT stands for the Indian Institute of Technology and the examination to get the admission in it is JEE.
JEE stands for the Joint Entrance Examination and the examination is conducted in two stages as the Mains and the Advance.

Only after qualifying in both the examination you are eligible for the admission in the IIT. The candidate who have passed or pursuing in the 10+2 are eligible to appear for the examination.
