How to work in government sector after doing B.Tech IT final year

am doing my B.tech IT final year now ..i like to work in government sector in any field and i need some high post also ,not clerk..How should i prepare and What skills i should improve..?
if any preparation is required inform me pls

and also pls inform about the different jobs that is available for me...

As you are in the final year of B.Tech course, you can apply for GATE exam. Those who qualify the test can apply for Graduate engineer positions in PSU like NTPC, GAIL, SAIL etc. Based on exam syllabus, you can start with exam preparation. IES, CSAT exam etc will help you to have rewarding jobs too. You can expect technical as well as aptitude questions in these tests.
