i am a engineering student of final year & my branch is electronics&comm. so please suggest me to prepare for IAS . which sub. will be suitable & how it is prepare.

it entirely depends on the interest of your and the grip of subject,
you should always take an subject which you feel you are really strong and need not spend more time in knowing the basics,
also the subject should be such that it should be overlapping whith the general studies paper,this will be really helpfull,
generally goegrapgy,political science,history are regarded goog with regards to overlapping with the general studies paper

as you are in final year so now you can starts preparation for the ias examination,

if you have well command in the core subjects of your department.

then you can choose that subjects other wise you can choose arts subjects like history.

so its all upon you.

Since you are an ECE engineer so you can apply in IES ie Engineering service examination. In IES you may have your electronics subject but in IAS you wont even have that one. Because in IAS only Civil , Electrical and mechanical branches are there. So either you start your preparation for IES or you start your preparation in any of these three subjects.
Among these subjects , electrical is most relevant subject to electronics branch, since in electrical you may encounter only the motor and electrical generator+power system as a new topic as compare to the electronics basic section.
Apart from these you may take non conventional subjects in IAS like Public Adm. , political science or geography etc.

The selection for the subjects really a tough task. Anyway you can select the subjects from the list of the all subjects.
As you are electronics engineer so choose the subjects which you can tackle easily.
However mathematics, English, gK,comprehension are the common subjects for the all students.

IAS subject will be suitable for ECE Engineering Student
Since you are an ECE engineer so you can apply in IES ie Engineering service examination. In IES you may have your electronics subject but in IAS you wont even have that one. choosing optionals is purely depends on the interest.which subject you like most is to be chosen.first you prepare for general studies paper.read ncert books of cbse pattern of all subjects from 6th standard to 12th standard.regarding optionals,you can choose general subjects like political science, public administration,geography,sociology,history.prepare well,all the best.

As you are a student of ECE, Mathematics will be easy for you so you can take the subject in selection of the subject in IAS exam.

As you are graduate in Engineering you can even apply for IES exam where you have good job opportunities.

Engineering students will be having good scope in IES rather than IAS so it will be better if you apply for the examination.

UPSC Civil Services Exams are held in three stages:
Prelims
MAINS
Interview


In the Prelims exams there are two papers of Objective type which is common for all the candidates


The Main written examination will consist of the following papers:
This exam will be of 1800 Marks and will have 7 papers


In the Mains exams also 5 papers are compulsory and just two papers are optional and you can choose the two subjects based on your subject knowledge only

1-You must be passed a graduate degree from a Indian recognized university
2-There is no percentage requirement
3-Appearing in final year candidates are also eligible.

Age limits;-

General age limits is 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given reserved category students.
