There are a numberr of Open Universities in the country offering
various degreesldiploma through the mode of non-formal education. The Open Universities have'been established i n the country by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in accordance with the provisions contained in Section 2(f) of University Grants Commission Act, 1956. These universities are, therefore, empowered to award degrees in terms of Section 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956. so KSOU is not recognised by UGC |

Yes Karnataka State Open University is recognized by University Grant Commission and Distance Education Council of India.
The All India Council for TechnicalEducation (AICTE) regulates the programs offered in Technical Disciplines whereas University Grant Commission regulates the overall management and standard maintenance of a university. This University is a recognised University of Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi and also a regular member of the Asssociation of Indian Universities. If you want to take admission in this university, then please go for it, This University is approved by DEC and you can easily take admission in this university. |

Dear friend yes KSOU (Karnataka State Open University) is recognized by University Grant Commission.
