Is maths compulsory for admission in B.Com (hons) at DU?


Is it compulsory to add maths in best of four for B.Com (hons) admission at DU. I have maths in class 12th but I got less marks in it in comparison to other subjects.

Yes, it is necessary to have mathematics as main paper in 10+2 board examination to get admission in Delhi university affiliated colleges in Bachelor of Commerce.

There is no problem of having less marks as if you have maths in 10+2 you are eligible for admission in B.Com.

For getting more details about the admission procedure visit at www.du.ac.in. The application for the admission in 2016-2017 session is closed. So, you are not eligible for admission this year if not submitted the application.

Yes, as per new set of rules, Mathematics is mandatory to study in class 12th for admission in B.Com course. There is no big problem if you have scored less marks in mathematics but you should have to score at least 40% marks in mathematics.

Delhi university is one of the India's best university and the admission in it's affiliated colleges are conducted on the basis of merit score in 10+2 board examination for most of undergraduate courses.

As, per guidelines of DU admission procedure it is necessary to have mathematics as main paper in 10+2 for the admission in B.Com and Economics honors course.

So, you are eligible for admission in course if you have mathematics as paper in board examination. To get more information about examination visit at www.du.ac.in.

Yes students should have mathematics should have mathematics as one of their compulsory subject if they wish to apply for B.Com hons. Most of the top colleges affiliated to DU look for that. For B.Com pass though you dont need mathematics. It may or may not be included in your best four subjects. There is no compulsion. Usually if you have 50-55% of marks then you can apply for the course. Having said that the cut off usually varies from one college to the other and it is as high as 90+ in the top ones.

The admissions in Delhi University in various undergraduates courses is given on basis of percentage of marks in board exams of 10+2. Yes, mathematics is necessary for admission in Bachelor of Commerce degree at Delhi University.

You will have to add marks scored in mathematics in best four subjects, no matter whether it is higher or lower. On basis of best four percentage of marks, admission in different colleges of DU is done. The application process for this year is already over and you will have to wait for next year if you have not applied for this year admissions.

The eligibility criteria for admission in Delhi University:

1. You must have passed 10+2 board exams from a recognized board like CBSE, ICSE, NIOS or any other state boards.

2. For admission of candidate in any college of DU in Bachelor of Commerce stream, marks of mathematics is taken into account and mathematics is compulsory and added in the best four subjects.

You can not get admission without mathematics in B.Com (Honours).

Yes, Mathematics is compulsory if you want admission in B.com (H) in Delhi university. You need not have it in your top 4 subjects but you need to have studied maths in 12th standard.

As per the updated eligibility criteria for B.Com at D.U., mathematics is compulsory subject for admission in B.Com course. As you have studied mathematics in your intermediate, so you are eligible for admission in B.Com course at D.U.
