Hi Richa. So you are interested in doing MCA. Different MCA entrance exams have different patterns. However typically in almost all of them admission is through a written test consisting of only objective type questions from General Aptitude, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability & Comprehension and General Computer Awareness. Generally admission in most institutes is only on the basis of the written test.

Regarding MAH-MCA-CET it is conducted in first week of March and the forms are available in February. For detailed info refer to the following link: MAH MCA CET 2010

Preparation material for MCA Entrance Exams is widely available in the market. You will have a better idea with those on what kind of questions you can expect in the exam.

please tell me for which university you are going to apply for mca so that could inform you. Regarding the MAH-MCA-CET 2009 examination comprises of two papers (objective type) of one hour duration viz.
General Aptitude (GA) and Computer Concepts (CC).& sample question paper are available on following website: www.dte.org.in

Adimission to MH-CET MCA program is carried in following 10 stages mainly:-

Stage-1) Buy the information brochure and read it carefully, and fill up the form as it is mentioned in the information brochure.

Stage-2) Candidates are also required to read the instructions given in the Hall Ticket carefully.Candidates will appear for MAH MCA CET 2010 written examination at the designated venue as mentioned in the Hall Ticket.

Step-3) he provisional result of CET will be declared on website of DTE.
The score card will be dispatched to the permanent address of the candidate mentioned in the application form by ordinary post.
The duplicate score card will be issued on payment of fee Rs. 200/-, only through the Institute wherein the candidate has taken the admission.
Centralised Admission Process (CAP):

stage-4) Updation and Confirmation of "Application Form for Admission" at ARC.

stage-5) Display of Merit List.

stage-6) Submission and confirmation of online option form for CAP Round I and II.

stage-7) Display of Allotment, Rules of Reporting to the "Respective Institutes" and confirmation of the admission of CAP ROUND-I.

satge-8) Submission and confirmation of online option form for CAP Round-IIEligible Candidates.

satge-9) Display of Allotment, Rules of Reporting to the "Respective Institutes" and confirmation of the admission of CAP ROUND-II.
stage-10) CAP Round III- Counseling round of Admission.

The detailed notification regarding availability of information brochure, filling up on-line CET Application form, eligibility criteria etc. will be published in leading newspapers and will also be available on the official web site www.dte.org.in/mca in the month of January 2010.
Online submission of the "MAH MCA CET Application Form" through computer connected to Internet on the website www.dte.org.in/mca for Maharashtra State / OMS/ J&K candidates and receipt of the Hall Ticket for the MAH-MCA-CET 2010
Start Date: Ist Week Feb 2010
Last Date: Mid Feb. 2010

2)MCA in cochin university:

The Common Admission Test for Academic Admissions 2010 will be conducted on 8th and 9th of May 2010 at various test centers all over India.
Only online registration will be considered for all academic programmes of the university except M.Phil, M.A. translation in German/Russian, Ph.D and diploma/certificate programmes.

Admission details, Eligibility conditions and other particulars will be available in the detailed Notification published in the website www.cusat.nic.in.
