IPS stands for Indian Police Service.For an IPS officer,you should appear for civil service exam. Civil Service exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) every year once to take qualified students into different service post in government sector.

Educational Qualification:-
You must be a graduate in any of the streams from a recognized university.
Appearing in the final year of bachelor degree program are also eligible for IPS exam.

The exam for Indian Police Service is conducted in two stages. First is preliminary stage where each candidate has to give to written tests. This exam is usually conducted in May/June. Only candidates who clear the preliminary exam are allowed to appear for next exam.

Main Examination is the second stage of Indian Police Service exam. There are nine written tests in it that are followed by personal interview. You will have to clear all the written tests. For four papers, each candidate has to select 2 subjects from a list.

IPS is short for Indian Police Services.for IPS you have to write Civil Services exam that is conducted by UPSC.
Minimum required qualification for IPS-
For Civil Services exam you need graduation degree from recognized college or university.
Your age must be within 21 years to 32 years. There is relaxation in upper limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Physical Requirements-

Height:- Male 165 cm & ST(not for SC and OBC) 160 cm.
Female 150 cm & ST(not for SC and OBC) 145 cm.
Chest:- Male minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female minimum 79 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Eye Sight:- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good Eye
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
Near Vision J1 for Good Eye and J2 for worst eye.

I am having 4 years of degree in b.com. Due to health problem I was not able to appear in the 3rd year exam and there was a year back .
