My daughter is 12 years old , she is in 6 the std ,in English medium, in Nagpur (Maharashtra). I want her to be admited in NDA for her bright future, I reguest you to get me the information about fees & entrance proceger. Who can help me with the the answer?

No friend you can't apply for NDA exam being a girl candidate.

The Eligibility criteria for NDA is:-

He must be in between 16.5-19 years.
The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
The candidate must be an unmarried male.
The candidate must be passed/appeared in 12th Science with a recognized university.
The candidate must be medically fit.

These are the eligibility criteria for the NDA exams,if you have all these criteria fulfilled then you can apply for the NDA exam.

Female candidate is not allowed to apply for NDA.

NDA Eligibility
- One must be unmarried male.
- One must have passed (10+2) in any stream for army wing and in science stream with PCM as a main subjects for navy & air force wing.
- One must have age between 16.5 to 19 years on 1st july of the examination year.

Exam Pattern
- Maths (300 Marks , 2.5 Hours)
- General Ability (600 Marks , 2.5 Hours)

- SSB Interview
- Medical Test

NDA Important Dates
- Registration Starts : 2nd January , 2016
- Ending of Registration : 29th January , 2016
- NDA Exam : 17th April , 2016

Sorry, she will not be able to appear for NDA examination for recruitment in defence services.

NDA examination is conducted by UPSC twice every year and the eligibility to appear for examination is candidate must have passed or appearing for 10+2 board from any recognised board. The age limit to appear for examination is 16.5-19.5 years.


As, only male candidates are eligible to appear for examination, so she will not be eligible to appear for examination. But, if she is interested in joining defence services she can appear for CDS after graduation.

No, only male candidates are allowed for the NDA entrance exam. But if your daughter is interested to join Army job then she can join through CDS- Combined Defense Services.

But minimum education qualification for the CDS is to have Graduation Degree from any recognized university of India & Streams is also defined for different wings and details are as below :

Military Academy : Graduations Degree from a recognized University.
Air Force Academy : Graduations Degree with Physics and Mathematics as subjects from a recognized University.
Naval Academy : Graduations degree with Physics or Mathematics from a recognized University.
Officer Training Academy : Graduations Degree from a recognized University.

Age requirements for Female Candidates :

Military Academy : Minimum 19 years and maximum 24 years.
Air Force Academy : Minimum 19 years and maximum 23 years.
Naval Academy : Minimum 19 years and maximum 22 years.
Officer Training Academy : Minimum 19 years and maximum 25 years.

Female candidates are not allowed to attend in NDA exam.

Candidates who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam. Final year of 12th standard are eligible for NDA exam. Your age should be in between to 16.5 years to 19 years.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy and as the name suggests it is an academy meant for giving training to those who manages to clear NDA entrance examination and are looking to be an defense officer in the future.

--> NDA has three wings which are Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air force.

--> NDA entrance examinations are held twice every year by UPSC and the same entrance examination comprises of two stages which includes Written examination and Service Selection Board interview respectively.

No, sorry to say that girls are not eligible in National Defence Academy like entrance exam for getting eligible in various government posts.
Minimum qualification is graduation for girls having apply in any post related to defence level.
After pass out graduation, she must clear the common defence service entrance exam.

NDA is the National defense Academy recruitment test which is conducted for the selection of candidates under technical department of Defense Sectors and as a female she can not appear for NDA as only the Male candidates are eligible for the NDA examination

As she can not appear for NDA she can appear for Defense Sectors for only non technical departments such as the Officers Training Academy through the CDS examination which is the Combined Defense Services Examination which is conducted by the UPSC and after completing graduation only she can appear for the CDS examination

CDS Examination is conducted twice every year and she can appear for the CDS recruitment through the UPSC only after the completion of the Graduation only.So let her complete Graduation first and then appear for the CDS examination
