Iam at present came to IV year.I had a desire to crack good rank in gate.So, is it possible to get good rank without taking coaching.If so what material should i follow. I already had Brilliant tutorials material. Is it enough to gain conceptual knowledge.

iam in a great confusion.please give me your important suggestions.

yes it is possible without coaching so firstly you can hard work at a particular subject and solved exam idea book to refer and previous question paper also.

i just completed my B.Tech and hope my suggestion will be helpful to you.

I think its better to go for GATE coaching because it will be helpful for several reasons, a few of them could be like as follows:
1. it will like a revision of concepts you have studied already.
2. you can learn something which you have left out.
3. there will be a sort of guidance to you.
4. you will have a chance to study and go through daily and you will be in touch with the concepts else you will become lazy to take the book and read.
5. also you can keep your mood in studying something else you may get diverted.

Hence, there will a chance to use the time available to you effectively. If you think that you can manage the things perfectly and don't have time to take coaching then prepare for yourself by planning a wise schedule and work hard, then GOOD RANK will be yours'.

I would advise you to go for coaching since its tough to do self study at this level and moreover the competition is very high

If you do self study then you can even get out of track but if in coaching then you are disciplined to study the matter on time.

So go for brilliant tutorials classroom coaching or correspondence. With conceptual knowledge its also necessary that you practice a lot

So practice hard and never ever ever ever give up

It depends on one's capability.
How hard you work on your studies, how much time you spend on your studies it depends on you only.
If you want to crack GATE exam without coaching then your all basic concepts related to all topics must be clear.

I suggest you to join coaching institute because they can guide you about how to attempt questions and how much time you should spend to each question .
They can also tell you about various short tricks to solve questions.
By joining coaching institutes you will also be in touch with all the topics and simply it is a kind of revision for you.

it is very much possible to get an good rank in gate without taking any coaching,
infact many of the top rankers did not take any coaching last year.
just follow the standard text books and solve the previous years papers,
make sure to write model exams

there are many examples who achieved great heights (including iit's , iim's, ias entrance) by self studieng but they were above average students.

taking coaching or not depends upon your skills and that differs from person to person .

so be wise and than decide and definitely for cracking gate with a good score , you need to do lot of hard work and

its not the quantity which matters,its the quality which matters alot.

so don't read more but read at best.

yes it is possible to get good rank without taking coaching. For that your basics should be clear and then you can try last years papers and sample papers.

I think coaching is must, without coaching it not possible for you to acheive good marks in GATE exams, because in now a days competition is very high.

So, i will suggest you just join a good coaching centre, if you want to acheive a good marks in GATE exams. If to join coaching classes is not possible for you, then you can purchase the best books and previous year paper of GATE exams and solve them regularly.

So, if you are not join coaching centre, then you have to need lots of hard work. So please solve previous year paper regularly, it will creats your confidence and purchase best author books from market to score good
marks in GATE exams.

So, please dont worry, just work hard, you will definately get a sucess as well as good marks in your GATE exams.

First of all search your talent,this can be searched by giving daily one paper of gate on internet and see where you stand and try to see where you are lacking.
try to improve that mistake and as you said that you have joined Brilliant tutorials then give the test series of this.this will boost your confidence.

and one more thing that really works is whenever you sit to give a test always fix the time on your watch at which the main gate paper have to start. this will help you to manage the time and you will get used to it.

It is possible to get good rank without coaching.But you should study regularly.Solve previous years question papers.Prepare a list of formulae and other important things.It is the quality time you devote is what matters.

It is good that you purchased brilliant tutorial's notes and study materials. I do also prefer them. Please also join test series in the month of december and january for GATE. And meanwhile do prepare for GATE and give each topic not more than 15 days. Syllabus will be finished before Dec.
This is just a planning layout of GATE preparation.
Basics cannot be cleared with just notes of BT, you should refer Books in this regards.

yea it is possible. just a very good study and sincerity is sufficient to get a good score in GATE. read all the text book carefully. give attention to the syllabus of the GATE. buy one book for GATE and practice it. you may choose the book GATE 2011 by G.K. Publishers but there is lots of mistake. be carefull about this. otherwise it's a very good book for GATE. this much work is sufficient to do a good score in GATE. don't need of any coaching.

Hi...all, i think it's hardwork and determination that matters..I know a friend of mine, who is below average in his b.tech and even got lot of supplymentary papers..but he got around all those and wrote gate..he didn't even attended any coaching class..Now he's in iisc bangalore..and his rank was within top 10..

Work hard with determination and u'll conquer..

GATE is easy to crack without coaching, even top rank is possible.

Coming to materials depends on the branch you are in.

yes , it is possible to get good rank in the gate exams without joining any coaching institutes.self study is the best way for the study.and so there is no any problem if you will not join the coaching classes,but give too much time for the self study.but i will suggest you that you must join any test series that will definately help you and will improve the rank.

okay time to start now

already you have lost one chance i think to attempt gate in 2011

so our target is 2012

you have nearly 14 months is it not possible to get a good rank in GATE

definitely it is possible to complete our satisfactory preparation first think you don't know nothing till now the subject i mean now also you can get a good chance if you have good interest and dedication to acheive

follow some tips

1) start right now don't waste single day also

2) start from right basics

3) 10th basics 12th basics and so on upto your satisfaction of basics

4)now coming to engineering divide all the subjects which are there in gate and prepare accordingly

5)clear all your doubts regarding the subject with your friends lecturers and hod's

6)work for more than 5 hours especially for gate right from the day

7)be updated about gate by these links

9) make good friends who are determined like you to get a seat in iit

10) make all healthy habits for these

11) keep all the attractions aside this one year you'll definitely get concentration

How much time do you need to prepare properly for GATE if u've done your graduation ni your subject well... Should i seriously go for GATE 2011 if i say i am preparing from today and can spare complete days fo it for a month... or should i not put my energy into this one and prepare for GATE 2012..Hey frens, Please reply asap or it'll get more difficult.
