1.you should be a graduate in any discipline from recognised university or college, 2.you must be between 21-30 years 3. you must submit upsc cs (prelims) exam and must qualify that 4. after qualifying upsc cs(prelims) exam you are now required to appear in cs mains exam and will have to pass that to be selected for interview. if you are able to qualify these exams then you can become ias wish you all the best!! |

IAS exam are conducted by UPSC......... To become IAS you should have graduation degree from a reconized university and have to appear in civil services exams conducted by UPSC. Civil Services (Prel) Exam, 2011: Date of Notification: 19.02.2011 Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 21.03.2011 Date of Exam: 12.06.2011 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Educational Qualifications for IAS : Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs. Fee: Candidates applying online are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs 50/- (Rs fifty) only either by remitting the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card Candidates applying off-line (through common application form) are required to pay a fee of Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred) only through central recruitment fee stamp only Female/SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from payment of fee (OBC candidates are required to pay full fees) How to apply: •Apply online by using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in •Apply offline by purchasing the application form from designated post offices throughout the country. The basic conditions are
ELIGIBILITY 1)A pass in a degree from any University, 2)For IAS and IPS the candidate must be a citizen of India, 3)For other services a candidate can be either a citizen of India,a subject of Nepal,a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetian refugee AGE LIMIT 1)21 years must be completed by the 1st AUGUST of that year, 2)GENERAL-30,OBC-33,SC/ST-35;EX-SERVICEMEN WILL GET 5 YEARS EXEMPTION ATTEMPTS OPEN-4,OBC-7,SC/ST-NO LIMIT you can attend for upsc examination. notification is published on february the new syllabus for 2011 prelims ias is given below The new syllabus will have two common papers with equal weightage (200 marks each), unlike the current system which gives more weightage to subject paper (300 marks) than the common general awareness paper (150 marks). CSAT Syllabus The first paper under the new syllabus will be more or less like the current general awareness paper, with additional issues such as climate change and biodiversity. It will will test civil services aspirants on current events of national and international importance, Indian history, Indian and world geography, Indian polity and governance, economic and social development and general science, besides environmental ecology, biodiversity and climate change that do not require subject specialization. The second paper, being introduced by replacing the optional (subject) paper, will have aptitude, data interpretation and English language comprehension skills. The second paper comprises general comprehension; inter-personal skills, including communication skills; logical reasoning and analytical ability; decision making and problem solving; general mental ability; basic numbers and their relations (secondary level) and data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables and data sufficiency). The English language comprehension skills will also be of secondary level. IAS is an exam that makes you to enter into the competative world and make you to get the top posts such as DC and DSP and ACP so on..
Eligibility criteria for IAS exam: Education-- Should be graduate in any field from a recognized university. No percentage criteria. Final years graduates can also apply. Age-- Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years....the age is calculated on the basis of 1st of August of the year applying for it. [33 years for SC/ST] Citizenship-- Should be a citizen of India. The Exam is basically divided into two parts... 1. Preliminary 2. Main In Preliminary, 2 papers are there... Each paper carry 200 marks and duration is 2 hours. So prepare yourself from now..You should have good knowledge in current affairs and social issues. To become a IAS officer.You should fill the application form of Civil Service exam and you should clear the exam with top rank.

To be an IAS officer you have to fill the forms of civil services which is conducted by UPSC(union public service commission).
IAS stands for Indian administrative officer and the selection of IAS officer is done through the Civil services exam.First of all you have to buy the application form from the post offcies of india which comes out in the month of January. The fees of application form is free for SC/ST and reserved categories but it will cost you Rs 100 if you are from general category student. THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IAS is: 1)A candidate must have passed his graduation in any field from any recognized university. 2)A candidate in the final year of graduation is also eligible for the IAS exam. 3)Natonality: * Only Indian nationals are eligible for IAS and IPS. * For other services a candidate can be either of the following: 1. a citizen of India, 2. a subject of Nepal, 3. a subject of Bhutan, 4. Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, 5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Vietnam, Zaire or Zambia with the intention of permanently settling in India. 4)Age limit: A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
