sir 'm doing diploma in electronics and communication engineering and i'm in final year.Let me know the procedure to join the merchnat navy.

IF you want a promissing career in merchant navy,then i will advice you to complete your b.tech.

as because after that you can join merchant navy directly
the only think is that you have to go for 10 month pre sea training in (marine engineering) which is offered by MERI,KOLKATA or recruiting company it self.

after that you will be appointed as trainee/fifth engineer in the stipened of (22,000-40,000).

the institute providing course in marine engineering ate TS CHANAKYA,MUMBAI AND MERI MUMBAI AND KOLKATTA

For diploma holders their is 2 year course
There are four Government Training Institutes providing Pre-Sea and Post-Sea training of international standard :
Training Ship Chanakya, Navi Mumbai
Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Kolkata
Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Mumbai.
Lal Bahadur Shastri College of advanced Maritime Studies and Research, Mumbai

there are many ways to enter merchant navy....
since u r a diploma holder u will have to do a 2 year course before u step on a ship....some of the reputed institutes that give that course are :-

besides these institute there are many other institutes also......

in the institute u will be given about half of ur salory as stipen for 2 years....
after that the institute will place u in some ship or their own shipping company.....
generally one time sailing is for 6 months around the world.....

You are in the third year so you should proceed your higher degree so it is easy to enter in merchant navy .

hi listen first of all you complete your course and graduation then you can apply for MERI and if you will select then you will be fifteen or a month tranee. For you have to be physically as well as mental prepared then you will be selected . thanks.

Yes you can join merchant navy as deck cadet. You have to go 1years pre-sea training.

There are many institute which conducts direct admission to various diploma courses and 1years pre-sea training.The minimum eligibility for is you must have passed 10+2 (pcm) with atleast 60% aggregate,many institutes also offers direct admission to it.

Sorry dear computer engineers are not required by merchant navy.However,you can join it after persuing some pg diploma courses or M.sc (nautical science) or MBA (hospitality management,hotel management) which is offered by very few institutes in India.

for merchant navy you have to give the entrance exam conducted by different companies and if you passed the exam then you will be called you interview and if you passed interview then you will be called for medical test and then you will be selected for the 6 months course and then you can apply to any of the company in which you are interested.

for that you have to give different exams conducted by different companies and after that you can go for it.

merchant navy is good but there you will need some good physical and mental strength The minimum eligibility for courses in Nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. You can get entry through Nautical Science degree of TS Chanakya, Mumbai; and the four-year Marine Engineering degree course at Marine Engineering Research Institute, in Calcutta and Mumbai, known as DMET, through the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology......................

hello friend i would like to help you that you can join merchant navy also after doing degree and if you have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering then you can join the Merchant navy as a Engine Cadet/ Fifth Engineer/ Junior Engineer directly.

you have to go for a Pre-sea course of 9 months duration in Marine Engineering conducted by the recruiting company itsel

but to join as a merchnat navy you have to do btech first.

you can get chance in merchnat navy in two ways

1.through UES. which exam you can appear in the final year of your btech.

2.through UPSC exam. this exam you can appear after your graduation course.
