Hello friend,
To be eligible for the SLET, you must hold a masters degree, approved by a recognized university, with a minimum of 55% marks. If you belong to SC/ST category, you will be eligible with 50% marks in the same.
There is no age limit to appear for the exam.
The examination comprises of three papers:
The 1st and the 2nd paper are of objective type and the 3rd paper is descriptive.
The application form can be obtained from the official website of SLET of your region/state.
Following are the states conducting SLET

Scope of NET & SLET



Eligibility for Lectureship

Clearing of NET confers eligibility for lectureship upon Indian nationals, i.e. the NET qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer in all Indian universities/Institutes/colleges.

It was resolved in the UGC's Commission Meeting held on 1.11.2001 that commencing from the SET examinations scheduled in or after June, 2002, the SET qualified candidates shall be eligible for appointment to the post of lecturer only in the universities/colleges belonging to the state from where they have passed the SET examination. The status of SET shall remain unchanged for SET examinations conducted prior to 1st June, 2002, that is, the candidates clearing SET were eligible for appointment to the post of lecturer anywhere in India.


Junior Research Fellowship

The candidates who qualify the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) Examination of UGC/CSIR NET are also eligible for the post of lectureship. In addition they are also eligible to receive Fellowships (UGC/CSIR) under various schemes subject to the candidates finding their placement in the universities/IITs/other national organizations. The validity of the offer is two years w.e.f. the date of issue of JRF award letter. The validity period of the offer has been raised from one year to two years for JRF Award Letters issued on or after 1st April, 2005. However, in case the candidates have already joined M.Phil. /Ph.D., the date of commencement of fellowship will be from the date of declaration of NET examination result or date of their joining, whichever is later.

PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

Download Bank Challan form in PDF format file, print it and then deposit fee in
State Bank of Mysore.

You should have

Scanned passport (pp) size photograph in JPEG format should not greater
than 500 kb,
Copy of Bank Challan(fee receipt).

The Application consist of two hard copies of online application form, one copy of
Attendance Slip and one copy of Admission card along with the required documents must
reach the respective NODAL Officer

Candidates Application received after 10.05.2011 at the respective
Test Centre will be rejected.

PROCEDURE FOR THE SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION FORM:

•Candidates are required to download the Bank Challan Proforma from the K-SET main official website: http://kset.uni-mysore.ac.in and then we can deposit the requisite test fee in any branch of State Bank of Mysore along with the bank charges (bank commission) of Rs.20/-.

•Before applying the Online application form, the candidate must possess: (i) Scanned passport (pp) size photograph in JPEG format(4.5 cm X 3.5 cm) should be less than 300kb, (ii) Copy of Bank Challan (fee receipt).

•The Candidate seeking admission to the Test must apply online (i.e. www.kset.unimysore.ac.in OR through a link available on the University of Mysore website: www.uni-mysore.ac.in).

•After the completing submission or Successfully completed, the candidate should take printout of online Application Form (Two copies), Attendance Slip (one copy) and Admission Card (one copy) on separate A-4 size papers. SC/ST/Category-1/PH/VH candidates must enclose the attested copy of certificate for the same.

•Category-IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB candidates must enclose the attested copy of Certificate for the same.

•The Application (consisting of Two copies of printout of online application form, one copy of Attendance Slip and one copy of Admission card) along with required documents (Copies of caste certificates, self addressed stamped, Rs.10/- envelop) must reach the Nodal Officer, of respective Test Center(Any one among the 11 test centers) opted by candidate as listed in the website www.kset.uni-mysore.ac.in

•The Submission of Hard copy of the Application form along with necessary documents is a MUST. Hard copy of the Application received after 10th May, 2011 at the respective Test Centre will be rejected.

•Before applying Online, candidates are advised to go through the detailed notification available at K-SET website. Please note that Fee submitted throughany other mode like Money Order, Demand Draft, IPO etc. will be rejected.

•The cover of size (37 cm X 25 cm) containing Application Form should be superscribed “K-SET FOR LECTURESHIP -2011”. Candidates should mention their Roll Number, Subject and Category. Name and Address of the candidates should be written on the cover. A sample copy is provided in the KSET website. For details visit Website: www.kset.uni-mysore.ac.in

•The candidate must affix his/her recent identical passport size photographs, at the places indicated, on the printout of Online Application Form and must sign across the photograph after it is affixed in such a way that a part of the signature spreads over the Application Form beyond the photograph. Besides, it should also be duly attested by the Head of the University Department/Principal of the College/Class-I Gazetted Officer with official seal.
