Gate exam is for Admission to Mtech programmes to IITs,NITs and other colleges.Some of the private college also take students on the basis of GATE score.

GATE Stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering .

To apply for this examination , the candidate should have a completed engineering degree or technology or architecture from a recognized University or equivalent qualification and those who are pursing in the final year of degree may also eligible to apply.
