the software field is gradually recovering from the recession and I think by the time, u finish your graduation, the market would be back to normal. the recession has not affected the recruitment much, companies do recruit students on campus. since you are a C.sc student, you have to learn more programming languages and keep urself updated so that ur resume may be well-equipped and u can stand out among others.

don't worry about the recession ,it and computer science both are fast recovering.

now india has become self dependent rather than depending on america.so better you be in your field and the best thing you can do in this time is to go for higher education and wait for the best time to come again.

and if are so worried then you can switch over to other sectors like :
banking and insurance
fashion technology
defense career

computer work is a staff function like an accountant. so, what if your own sector is down, every other sector needs computer experts as analyst, engineers and programmers...
this depression and boom is a part of a cyclic phenomenon and until you will pass. i hope that your market will bounce back to pre-2008 level.
you may also prepare for bank PO,bank IT officers and other governement posts....The future is propitious and i hope your face will be all smile when you will retire from your college.
