my friends want to be an photographer,please tell whats the scope in India and how to get an good job in basis of photography

the photography career is initially a struggle and you dont get much salary also,but once if your photographs click with the public then you you can raelly make good money

If he has passion for photography then this is a very good field with lot of scope. Most important is that he should have thorough knowledge of technology as well as creativity. A good knowledge of art, colour, and lighting would help you a lot. He might already be knowing lot many things about photography.


A professional photographer can get job opportunities in advertising agencies, newspapers, fashion and design companies, news channels, industrial houses, government departments and magazines etc.

A candidate is required to pass their Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination for enrollment in a Diploma or Certificate course in photography.

I think Delhi and Mumbai and Kolkata is a good place where there is a demand for photographers. Every field of photography has a good demand.

At last we got something which your friend what to be and you don't. I think the carrier as a professional photographer in India is not very good. Here if we go in some of backward regions or small cities they even don't know what the professional photography is.so according to me opting photography in India is not a good idea in India.

Photography is a profession as well as an art form. For photography as a career in India, one must have that extra quality, an interest in visuals, attentiveness to colour, shape and shadow, an interest in light, in observing how colours look on certain days. Finding strong foothold as a professional photographer is no cakewalk, which is why, perhaps regrettably, many talented photographers remain amateurs.

candidates who have cleared the 10+2 examination are eligible for the diploma or certificate courses in photography. One can begin his/her career as an assistant of a senior or professional photographer, so that he/she can grasp the finer points of photography. Photographers can go on to specialise in areas such as portrait, commercial and industrial, advertising, scientific, fashion, news, wildlife photography etc.

A freelance photographer can earn a lot by selling photographs to various journals, magazines, news channels and newspaper houses.

so go for the course if you have the aptitude and die hard interest..........

you can apply in some magazine office and if you have some talent they will surely recruit you

definitely dear as the media industry is growing...the demand of photographers is increasing...and also in modeling industry there is need of photo grapher..but you must be creative and innovative

then go for photography competitions and win more certificates then go for jobs preferences in big companies like tv company

it has good future if trained under a experienced photographer so feel the innocence in you and start your carrier .............

and there are many institute in india which will provide you the course fot the photography.

Delhi Police has shortage of good photographers now. at least you can land in crime photography.
