Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
Since you have an offer from TCS it would be better to take up this job. You gain a lot of practical experience. You can go in for a Masters course after 2 years of experience. Your experience will be useful in securing admission in reputed institutes. Also once you complete your Masters you will be able to secure good position in reputed institutes.

Re:Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
hi..your university is a very renowned university..and you are lucky to be placed in tcs..you should go for the the job coz companies like tcs..provide you with admission in good masters college(as they have good link there)..and tend to complete your masters in one year insted of 2...with the job in hand..you must join with tcs..n one more thing if u dont want to do masters as guided by them.. Then after gaining experience for 1.5 or 2 year you can leave tcs n do your masters on ur own..it wil value ur degree as you wil have a good experience of industy before yor masters..

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
The option is in your hand we can just give you our opinions and choices you can make out.Since you have completed your B.tech and secured a job in TCS hence its shows that you well talented to face interviews. Well of course TCS is a well established company but after completing your post graduation you have chances to get into better companies when compared to TCS like General Electrical(GE).
Hence, its better that you go with your Masters.Well you dint mention the Master's course you want to go through in your post graduation level. Let it be M.Tech, M.B.A or M.S all these courses are important and will certainly lead you further. You even have an other option i.e you can presently do your job and then later doing the Master's course through correspondence.Correspondence course is useful but it has it's own dis advantages when compared to the regular course. You have an other option i.e go through the work in TCS for two years so that you will get the experience certificate and later try out for the Master's course so that it will be much more easy to secure a job. |

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
hello..........
first of all congratulations on completion of your graduation................. since you have been already placed in a well reputed company ......but still you need to do your post graduation to fetch a better carrier oppurtunities ...........you can euther go for M.tech or for MBA........ look if you are more inclined towards technical fields then go for M.tech and if you have a commanding leadership quality and want to mix your technical arts with business skills then go for MBA.......... salary package wise......MBA is better than M.tech.......... all the best........... |

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
Hello,
Its nice to hear that you are placed in TCS. If you are much more affectionate with the studies and of course, you do not wish to leave the company just to do your masters. So, you have the best option of 'distance learning', you can join any designated university like 'Makhanlal university' etc. From which you can pursue your masters as M.tech, simultaneous with your job. Ok, best of luck. |

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
It depends on your requirements & future goals.
If you are in no mood to continue job, then its better to quit, apply for master program. You can do: MBA Mtech MS For MBA for can apply for IIPM, FMS, CAT for IIMs, ISB etc, all these are reputed institutes of India. For Mtech, you can apply for GATE for mtech through IITs/ IIsc. GRE is for MS from abroad. But you can continue your job for atleast two year, then you would get enough work experience which would be helpful when you will apply for jb after mtech/MS. |

As clearly seen from your query you are definitely going for Masters anyhow at the end of the day. So I will suggest you not to join TCS especially as you may not get the exposure and time for your Masters preparation. And also your salary pack will be hiked if you are a Master's. |

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
Hi meenakshi,
If i am in your stage i will surely take off the job in TCS and will start to earn. Because after finishing my four year degree i won't like to continue masters degree leaving a chance of good job. But since you say you want to do masters degree for sure it seems you are interested in studying. So i suggest you to continue your wish (i.e. masters degree). |

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
As you told us that you surely want to do master degree then you should go for master degree. The other option is that first do job in TCS, have some experience and if TCS provide you master degree then it is very better otherwise after some year you can do your master degree.
But according to my views you should go for job because you have talent and you also placed in the India’s top most company. When you will have some experience then it is very better, because after higher posts most of the company like the experienced candidate. It’s your career so the decision is also in your hand but take your step towards the right direction surely you will get success. |

hi
in my point of view you first join company . then you study later for masters. beacause now market is very open if you have experince some years then you go for study and after study when you come you have both certificates like Master degree certificate and also experience certificate. and remember most good company send the student for higher study |

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
Well as you have said that you have done Btech and you are placed in TCS so which means that you have good percentage throughout your engineering and you have good technical knowledge.
Well as you said that you want to pursue master degree and you are confused that whether you should go for job first or not .Well its depends if you want to purse Mtech then i ll suggest you not to take job but if you want to do MBA then work for 2 years and also do coaching in some good institute ,prepare for cat exam and try to crack CAT exam .It will help you a lot because all IIM's provides preference to do those students who have got industrial experiences so it will be very easy for you to get admission once you score good marks .On the other hand in MTECH yo should not drop just take admission after to any IIT's it will help you to get more technical knowledge |

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
Hi,
I would suggest you to stick to your job at present. You are surely going to do Masters...So before that gain some experience. It will help to get admission in masters with at least 2 years experience. Earn some money...By that time you will also get some time to prepare for GATE. So all the best and continue with your job. |

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
hi friend...
i would suggest work for at least two years and get some experience and then go for master... it has many advantages in doing these ways.. such as u might get scholarship from the company that ur woking in..so that u dont have to pay for ur self... other then that u can get more experience and even get better ms college.. because now a days most of the colleges see the work experiences before letting them join into the college.. but if u join directly then u might feel little difficult in ur up coming subjects.. so i suggest that to work for a while and then go for the master... make the right decision for ur self... and all the best thank you.. |

Re: Should I go for a Job or Masters after completing B.tech?
Hi Meenakshi
You have not mentioned anything about which masters you would like to go for. Being a B.Tech, ( I assume as most people go for these ), you may like to go for - M.Tech - MBA - MS If you want to go for M.Tech, you should give any break between your studies as the syllabus is same for B.Tech and M.Tech. So things would be fresh if you appear just after your B.Tech. Also there is no weightage for work ex for M.Tech If you wish to go for M.S or MBA, you need time to prepare for CAT or GRE and TOEFL It is advisable to join any good company and keep preparing as well. You will also get work ex. all the best |
