Well any stream students can apply for IAS exam so overall it doesn't matter.so you

should not be worry about the subject or stream you should choose after 10th class .But

still if you want to select a particular branch then go for arts stream.because many

things ask in IAS exam is related to this stream and this is one of the easiest branch so it

mean that you can give time to prepare for IAS .and this can help you a lot .

ELIGIBILITY:

Age limits :

21-30 years for general students
35 years for SC/ST
33 for OBC .

education :
Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university.

In IAS exam there are a lots of subjects as optional subjects in which science subject as well as arts are included.
So, it should be better if you choose subjects as per your interest.
At first keep in mind that graduation is compulsory for this exam.
You can start your preparation whenyou will be in the 2nd or 3rd year of your graduation.
Best optional subject for IAS exam is Political science and History.
So, you can opt arts in 12th.

Look for IAS you need to appear for the civil service exam conducted by the UPSC.

Now the minimum educational eligibility for the Civil Service exam is that a candidate has to have a graduate degree from any field from a recognized university.Even final year students can apply.

Now it does not matter whatever stream you choose in the 11th standard, you will not be eligible untill you are in the final year of graduation or have completed the same.

Age limit:

Candidate must be minimum 21 years of age as on 1st August of the year of exam.
Also upper age limit is 30 years(Relaxations for SC/ST).

Hello friend,
The Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC comprises of two written exams.
Preliminary Exam- It comprises of Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT).
The syllabus of CSAT will be as follows
Paper 1
Current events of national and international importance
History of India and Indian national movement
Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change
General science.

Paper 2
Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level),
Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
English language comprehension skills (Class X level)

Therefore, you can sense that you got to have the basic knowledge of almost every subject area to qualify the CSAT.
Now, while moving on to the Main Exam, The compulsory subjects for the Main exam are one Indian language, English, Essay and General studies. Since the main exam consists of compulsory papers based on arts stream, I would suggest you to pursue the same stream. This will enable you to make a strong base on the subjects.
Apart from compulsory papers, the main exam also includes two optional papers. The available optional subjects are Agriculture Mathematics, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Mechanical Engineering Botany, Medical Science, Chemistry, Philosophy, Civil Engineering, Physics, Commerce,Political Science ,Economics ,Psychology Electrical Engineering Public Administration, Geography, Sociology, Geology, Statistics, Indian,History, Zoology,Law.

Friend, All stream are very good, impotant thing is that in which stream you feel better for yourself for study. if you are in art stream then history subject is good. because two paper will be prepare of your exam, history and G.K.

First you should complete your graducation.

some important tips:-

you should 1. Read newspaper daily
2. read news magazines if possible
3. Make notes of your ncert books from class 6th to class 10th for
all subjects geo for class 11th and class 12th as well history of
class 11th atleast.
4.read GK books.
5.watching channels like discovery helps a lot in the long run.
try to understand things, and work hard is the only mantra for
success in IAS.

Then you have to appear for the exam.

Exam pattern:-

!) the first is a screening exam full of multiple choice.

2) if you get selected You can attend the mains

3) then you will be called for interview.

4)the marks of the main and interview are considered for the FINAL rank list.

5) those who are included in the FIRST 100 get IAS.

For IAS one need to go through civil services examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

The selection procedure for IAS will be by
1)CSAT - Civil Services Aptitude Test
2)Civil Services Main examination
3)Interview.

As a part of eligibility criteria, one should be a graduate from a recognized university in order to appear for IAS exam.

You can choose any of the discipline in your 10+2 and then after the completion of your graduation, you can appear for IAS.

Still plenty of time is there. Meanwhile what i suggest you is to be good enough in General knowledge aspects by the time you appear for the exam.

As per the age criteria, one should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for IAS exam.

Relaxation is there in upper age limit for the candidates of OBC and SC/ST.

Based on the overall ranking and your choice of cadre, you will be provided IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. The higher your rank, the choice is with you.

In case you have not not got a good rank and got into IFS, IAS or IPS, you may still become a Group A or B officer in the Central Govt.

There is no definte stream to choose for an IAS as it covers all the general subjects.Stream in which you have interest you can go for that. But if you choose Math stream than it will be quiet beneficial as it will help you to score higher than rest student.
For IAS you have to qualify for U.P.S.C exam held every year

IAS examination is conducted by UPSC every Year.

You can choose any of the graduation course. It doesn't matter which course you opt.

Exam pattern for IAS exam is changed from 2011, till last year there was preliminary examination for IAS which consists of two papers and out of the two one was optional subject.

But from this year this preliminary examination is replaced by CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test ) which focuses on aptitude and there is no optional subject.

So, from now itself start practicing for aptitude test if you want to crack it in your first attempt.

Here is,

Eligibility criteria for IAS:-

a) Educational Qualification:

Must have graduation from recognized university.

b) Age limit:-

Minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years.

Relaxation for category holders:
1. For SC/ST 5 years.
2.For OBC 3 years.

c) Total Number of Attempts:

1. For General category 4 attempts.
2) For OBC 7 attempts.
3) For SC/ST unlimited till age limit.

Number of attempts are very limited so start preparing from now itself.

For complete details please visit official website of UPSC http://www.upsc.gov.in

All the Best....

the IAS exam in formulated in such a way that graduate from any discipline can take the exam, but i would like to bring few points for consideration
1. which ever discipline you choose, you need to be confident in that because you have to attempt a subject from your stream in IAS exam and also you can expect questions during interview from your graduation stream
2. develop interest in general studies like reading newspapers daily and following magazines like CSR and pratiyogita darpan.

Dear friend, you should go for either science or commerce stream but with mathematics in either stream. The eligibility criteria for appearing in the B.Arch. entrance exam is Mathematics with 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level. In B.Arch entrance exam like AIEEE the pattern is as follows:

Mathematics – Part I
Aptitude Test – Part II &
Drawing Test – Part III

After 10th choose your stream according to your interest. However if you go for science stream with PCM subjects then after 10+2 you can also appear for B.Tech exam also. Also PCM students have many other options.

Thank you.Best wishes

There is no specific stream to be chosen in 11th to apply for IAS.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer one has to crack Civil service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

After 12th you should choose any stream to purse Graduation in which you are comfortable in order to apply for Civil Service after Graduation.

HI!
Friend after passing 10th you have three option:-
> Arts
> Commerce
> Science

You can chose any one stream in 11th and 12th.

After passing 12th you have to pass graduation with any stream like:-
> B.TECH
> B.A
> B.COM
> B.SC
> M.B.B.S
> B.D.S
etc

After passing graduation with any stream you can apply in I.A.S exam.

I.A.S exam is also called as civil Services exam.

I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Age limit for I.A.S exam is 21-30 year.
For O.B.C candidate is 21-33 year.
For ST/SC candidate is 21-37 year.
