hello sir,
i am pursuing engineering in COMPUTER SCIENCE. I am in 3rd year. I have to be an technical officer in INDIAN MILITARY.But i have a problem in left hand thumb.
Can still i apply for INDIAN MILITARY.
if yes then how???????????

it is possible in Indian military -- for military only only physical is impotent for Javans
It is may be reservation to the people like U to get job in computers

If u have problem in left hand thumb then u should consult to a millitary doctor to check that u fullfill the required criteria or not..because there is special medical fitness required in defence services. If u are fit then u can apply through ues means university entry scheme conducted by army itself for the post of technical officer.

if there is problem in your left hand thumb then there are provision for the one who is physically handicapped or having defects in some parts of their body.It's like they keep some reservation for those people.moreover you should check the website for such cases.as far as i am concerned it should not pose any problem for you in becoming techincal officer in military academy.

you can join as technical officer.

you can join in Indian military as Computer Science Engineer in two ways.

1.through UES. which exam you can appear in the final year of your btech.

2.through UPSC exam. which exam you can appear after doing your btech.

every branch of engg student can join in Indian military .

dear friend,

As a computer science student you can apply for Indian Army as well as Indian Air force.

You can apply either through UES(University entrance scheme) or by filling the form manually when form will be published.

& then you have to appear in EKT(Engineering knowledge test) & then after selection in EKT you will be called for SSB test.

As you told that you have some problem in thumb, then i suggest you to first diagnosis by any physician , if they tell you that you are OK then you should take preparation for it, otherwise i suggest you to concentrate your mind in other field of your Computer science.

I am pursuing engineering in computer science.I am final year student.On 4th oct Indian army(UES entry scheme) is coming in my college for PRELIMINARY INTERVIEW. So can u tell me what kind of questions they ask in this interview.

A Engineering graduates can

• join in the 3rd year or that final year through the UES(University Entry Scheme)
  
• or after completion of graduation through Technical Graduate Scheme, by appearing before the Service Selection Board.

In both the cases you can be posted as a captain.

and also you can apply for Combined Defence Services examination as a regular/short service commissioned officer..

• For regular service training will be Indian Military Academy , Dehradun..
  
• For short service Officer’s Training Academy, Chennai...

Short service is for 5 years and after completion of 5 years either you can resign or opt for an extension for five years or a permanent commission.

UGC entry:-one can apply for it in final year of degree.

CDS entry:-one can appear in combine defence service exam.

direct entry is also there in which you have to fill forms for defence force and you will get call for Service Selection Board(SSB).

Dear Friend,

There are many vacancy in Army for the technical officer like you. Please join as a technical officer.

But medical fitness is necessary as per military rules. It is better if you would check up your thumb from doctor first before proceeding further.

What technical questions a computer science student can expect in ssb interview? during 8 semesters we have 6 subjects per semester,i.e, total of 48 subjects..each of them can not be revised deeply, can anyone tell me which subject to choose??

To get into technical branch of Indian Military you have to qualify in UES exam.

Eligibility for UES exam:-

1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field with 60% aggregate.

2.Candidate should not have any pending backlogs during graduation.

3.Age should be in between 18-28 years.

4.Candidate must be physically fit.

These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill.

As you are pursuing B.tech course in computer science stream then after completion of B.tech course you will be eligible for UES exam.
