Re: Is there a chance for me to be eligible for NET examination?
As you have completed your M.COM, you are eligible to apply for NET examination conducted twice every year by University Grants Commission(UGC) to select the candidates for Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship.
Eligibility for NET examination : -> Master degree with 55% of marks in aggregate for General and OBC category candidates and 50% of marks for SC, ST and PWD candidates. -> Final year master degree pursuing students are also eligible to apply for this exam. -> Age limit to apply for JRF is 28 years and the age relaxations are : 5 years for OBC, SC, ST and PWD candidates. And there is no maximum age limit for Lectureship. -> For JRF, an amount of Rs.25,000/- per month will be offered by both CSIR and UGC. |

Re: Is there a chance for me to be eligible for NET examination?
NET refers to National Eligibility Test and for appearing in the same examination one is required to have completed his/her Master's degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. Marks relaxation of 5% is applicable for SC/ST and PH category candidates.
Apart from educational qualification for appearing in NET you are required to be an Indian citizen with your age lying under 28 years for joining JRFs. Marks relaxation is allowed for reserved category candidates. Further their is no age limit for the post of assistant professor. So having completed your Master of Commerce degree in correspondence mode you are eligible for appearing in NET if your university is recognized by UGC and you have managed the minimum marks required in master's degree for appearing in NET as mentioned above. |
