Is there any negative marking in placement written test?

No, there is no negative marking for the placement written test.

As i know there mainly almost in maximum companies the negative marking is considered in placement written test.but it depend on compny

yes it is compulsory.negative rating was applicable for companies like tcs,tata,cognizent,wipro etc

1)Ever Placement exam will be having Negative Mark, mostly it will be .25 for wrong question

2)For 12th Level Exam there won't be any Negative Mark

Different companies have their own exam pattern. There is negative marking in aptitude test conducted by some of the MNCs. While in the placement paper of other companies there is no provision of negative marking.

It is better to go through the exam pattern of the company for which you are appearing in order to know whether there is a provision of negative marking in their aptitude test or not.

It all depends on the company conducting the placement exam, the number of examinees and the type of questions.

The Company: All aspects of the exam are the sole discretion of the company, and you can't argue with the company to change its policies.

The Examinees: More examinees mean more competition, and the easiest way to decide the ranking in such competition is when negative marking is present.

The Questions: Well, MCQs are almost synonymous to negative marking, but this is rarely true for subjective answers including very short & short answer type questions. Essay type questions are rarely given in placement tests

hi, in some of the companies u can face this evaluation basis lies on negative marking . but, not for all of the companies. So, u should have to know the pattern of exam before attempting it

most of the placement written examination has negative marking. but it will totally depend on the examination. some company may have their placement examination without negative marking. when you will appear in the examination you should carefully read the instruction to know is there any negative marking or not.

Negative markings is based on the company.For eg latest infosys placement test don't have negative marking but in Tcs its of CBT(computer Based test ) they have negative marking of 1/3.Before preparing for any placement test read guidelines about how many questions and also how many marks awarded for each question are necessary to know!

Yes definitely. it is common nowadays as scheme of negative marking can be seen in allmost all competitive exams and this exam is also not an exception .however there are some companies which doesn't conduct exam with negative marking scheme.

it depends from company to company,
some companies like infosys have negative marking were as some companies like tcs,l&t,ncc do not have any negative marking,
its better to attempt all questions for exams which does not have negative marking

These days most of the firms have negative marking in papers because that makes you think twice before ticking any option.so solving many no of question is not important but having them right is more important.

@Premalata G Langati: i am from delhi college of engineering, i went thriugh several written test and interviews, and i can say that almost 90% placement papers do not have negative marking and these include all the top companies like adobe as well

its depend on company you are applying for. every company have their own way to conduct written test some company use negative marking some are not. confirm from required authority before sitting in exam ....

It depends on the company coming to placements. upto my knowledge for example tcs had no negative marking last year when it came for oncampus. And now from 2010 onwards it has negative marking system i.e. for 3 wrong answers 1 right answer will be deleted. But most companies have this negative marking system

We can not say that there will be negative marking or not.Because it depends on the company your going to face.When they drive for placement they will clarify that there is negative marking or not.
But many companies didn't tell and they don't do negative marking.
Rest depends on you.

it depends upon for which company you are appling but most of placement tests have negative marking which is of 1/3 or 1/4 of the question for furhter details you can check the company website to which you are applying

Placement test conducted by companies usually do not have negative marking, but when the number of people appearing is in large number's there may be negative marking to filter students.

the placement exams do have negative markings but only for some companies,
it all depends on the company whether to have negative marking or not,
even some of the government companies are keeping negative markings these days,
some companies keep changing there model,so its always better to be prepared for any thing

no in forth coming companioes there is no noegativee markinh...but they increased cut off marks

It depends on the recruiting company.Generally most of the companies keep negative marking.

Yes premalata,

most of the MNC company's written exam do have negative marking scheme.

it might be 1 3rd of total marks to each question or it might be 1 4th of total marks to each question.

Don't worry about negative scheme while giving exam its only deviates your mind
form respective question.

just concentrate on questions.
