The age limit for Indian Army depends upon the mode of entry. Since there are various modes of entry in Indian Army, the age limit varies as follows:

• For candidates joining Indian Army by qualifying Combined Defense Services Examination

Indian Military Academy:19-24 years
Officers Training Academy:19-25 years

• For candidates joining through NCC Entry (Men): 19-25 years
• For Law Graduates: 21-27 years
• For Technical Graduate Course: 20-27 years
• Soldier: 17 1/2 - 23 years
• Junior Commissioned Officer Religious Teacher:27-34 years

You can get entry through NDA in Indian Army.

NDA exam counduct by UPSC twice in year for three wings of
nda Airforce,Army,Navy & Navel Academy.

Qualification – The candidate must have passed 12th class with around
55% aggregate from a recognized university or college. The candidate should with Physics, mathematics, and Chemistry.

final year students in 12th class are also eligible to apply NDA.

Age limit- Only unmarried male candidate whose age should be between 16.5 years to 19 years are eligible.

Exam pattern- There are two paper in this exam.first paper is math. It's 300 marks and question will be 120, every question
is 2.5 marks.second paper is General ability which is 600 marks.there are two section divide in General ability
1.english(200 marks) and general knowledge(400 marks).

Indian Army is one of the three wings of Indian Defense Academy.

You can join Indian Army Through NDA or CDS examination.

In order to join Indian Army through NDA Examination , you have to be in the age group of 16.5-19 year and must have completed your 12th with a minimum of 45% marks so that if you qualify the NDA entrance examination then you can be selected.

In order to join Indian Army through CDS , Your age must lie in between 21-30 years and you must have completed your graduation from any recognized college / university with Maths as one of your subjects.

There are always two ways in different situations in the life in the same way even in this situation there are 2 ways of getting into the prestigious Indian army.
First is the NDA-nationa defence academy
• which is the entrance exam which is written after completing intermediate.
• The age limit is 16.5-19yrs
Seond is the CDS-Combined Defense Service
• This you can write when you have graduate from the respective course
• The age limit for this is 19-25yrs.

yes, you can definitely join. there are 2 ways for you to join the Indian army the first being you can write the NDA(national defence academy) tests and since your age will be in between 16.5-19yrs you can try few times.

if not this you can finish your graduation and then appear for CDS exam ...

so now there are 2 ways available ..choose one among them..

The minimum qualification is 10+2 with a minimum of 50%. You must be having PCM in +2.

To join Indian army you can give the NDA entrance exam after giving your class 12 exam. In that case your age needs to be between 16.5-19 years.


Exam pattern:-
paper i is mathematics of 300 marks
paper ii is the general ability divided into two parts:-
part A is english of 200 marks
part B is general knowledge of 400 marks
so total 900 marks

For CDS exam here is the complete eligibility criteria:-

1. For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent

2. For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering

3. For Air Force Academy: Degree of a Recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering.

Age should be between 19-24 years.

First of all i want to tell you onething about Indian army i.e there are two ways to join in indian army after 12th standard you have to apply NDA(National Defence Academy) and after graduation you have to apply CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam and these two exams are conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) twice in every year.

Eligibility criteria for NDA:-

The candidate should be complete 12th standard from an aggregate state board.

But for airforce and navy you must have PCM subjects in 12th standard.

One thing you have to remember in this NDA i.e girls are not eligible for NDA only unmarried male candidates should only eligible.

The candidates age should be in between 16.5 years to 19 years.

Candidate must be a citizen of india and physically fit.

Percentage is not required for this exam.


Eligibility criteria for CDS:-

The candidate should be complete graduation in any stream from a recognised university.

Percentage is not required to appear this exam and final year candidates should also be eligible.

The candidate should be a citizen of india.

Male and female candidates are also eligible.
