What is the age set by CBSE Board for class 1 admission?
Date of birth of my son is 26th June, 2015 and now he is studying in UKG class. School denied to give him admission in class 1 next year. How to save his year now? And, what is the standard age limit for class 1 set by CBSE Board?

Re: What is the age set by CBSE Board for class 1 admission?
As per CBSE rules and guidelines, student have attained at least 5 years age on 31st of March in the year (in which the student is seeking admission). Maximum age of the student to get admission into Class 1 is 7 years.
Since your child's DOB is 26th June, 2015, so your child's age in April 2019 will be 4 years only. While in April 2020, your child's age will be 5 years. Hence, you will have to wait for 1 year for your child to get admission in CBSE school. Because, no CBSE school will admit your son in Class 1 as age criteria is between 5-7 years. |

Re: What is the age set by CBSE Board for class 1 admission?
CBSE has not declared any age limit criteria to get admission in std 1 or to appear for the board examination.
It is the duty of the Directorate of State Education to determine the age criteria to appear for the examination or to get admission in std 1. So, visit the concerned office for the detail information. |

CBSE has not announced the minimum age limit criteria to get admission in std 1.
So, it is not possible to get detail about the age limit. The age limit is decided by the directorate of state education. You can get the limit about age criteria from the school and the concerned directorate office. |
