Food Inspector and Drug Inspector are the two different exams conducted by two different bodies.Food Inspector exam is conducted by the SSC for Food Corporation of India.Drug Inspector Exam is taken by the state public service commission by different states.

Eligibility details for Food Inspector :
  • Candidates should have a minimum of bachelor degree from recognized university.
  • Candidates bachelor degree should be from Forestry Engineering/Agriculture Engineering/Animal Husbandry and veterinary science/B.sc in Botany/B.sc in Fishery and Agriculture.
  • Candidates minimum age should be 21 years and not more then 30 years.
  • Candidates minimum marks in bachelor degree course should be 60%(50% for SC/ST candidates).
Eligibility details for Drug Inspector :
  • Candidates should be pass out in bachelor degree course with Biology as main subject in Inter.
  • Candidates should have a bachelor degree in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Science/Medicine/Biotechnology.
  • Candidates minimum age should be 18 years and not more then 34 years.
Exam Syllabus details :

A) For Food Inspector :



Under this exam,questions will be asked from two sections in Preliminary written exam.Section I will include questions from Indian History and Environmental Science and Section II will include questions from Agriculture,Botany,Zoology,Biochemistry.


B) For Drug Inspector :

In Preliminary Test questions will be asked from two sections.these are General Sections and Technical Sections.General Section will include questions from General Studies and Mental Ability.Technical Sections will include questions from Medical Science and Pharmacy.

Food Inspector details:

Union Public Service Commission conducts All India Food Inspector Exam for the recruitment of food inspectors in various offices all over the country.

Nationality:

Candidates should be citizen of India.

Educational Qualification:

You must be graduate in agriculture/pharmacy/food technology/diary technology from any recognized collage.

OR

Graduation in the medical also eligible for this post.
or you have taken the chemistry,biology,agriculture then you are eligible for this exam.

Age limit:

Candidates minimum age limit should be 21 to 30 years.Age relaxation applicable as per govt.rules.

Selection Process:

Written Test
Interview.

Exam pattern and syllabus for FCI exam

Paper I
General Science ( 50 marks)
Reasoning (50 marks)
Quantitative aptitude (50 marks)
English (50 marks)

Paper II:
Quantitative (100 marks)
English and Comprehension (100 marks)

Paper III:Biological Science(200 marks)

Drug Inspector Details:

Drug Inspector exam is conducted by SPSC(State Public Service Commission).

Nationality:

Candidates must be citizen of India.

Educational Qualification:

Candidate have completed degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognized university or equivalent are applicable for Drug Inspector exam.

Age limit:

Candidates age must be 21 years to 30 years.age relaxation as per govt.rules

Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Sciences
Clinical Pharmacology
M.D. Micro Biology

Syllabus for Drug Inpsector:

Anatomy,Physiology& health Education
Pharmacognesy
Hospital & Clinical Opharmacy

Pharmaceutical Analysis

Food Inspector exam is conducted by the UPSC in every year.To become a Food Inspector the following eligibility is required.

Nationality:

Candidate should be citizen of India.

Education Qualification:

candidate must have graduation in agriculture/pharmacy/food technology/diary technology from a recognized university

Age limit:

Candidate age limit should be between 21 to 30 years.

Age relaxation also available as per govt rules.

Selection Process:

Written Test

Interview

Age limit:

Candidate must be between 21 years to 32 years.

3 years age relaxation for OBC Cadidates

5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
