Default Re: What is the difference between Paramagnetism and Ferromagnetism?

The substances which are weakly attracted in a magnetic field is called paramagenetic substance. In this type of magnetism substances contain unpaired electron. In paramagnetism all domains of magnetic moment acts in different regions such that their resultant becomes very less.

The substances which are strongly attracted in magnetic field is called ferromagnetic substance. This type of magnetism arises due to domains of magnetic moment are parallel to each other i.e; acting in a same direction. It means net magnetic moment is not zero. So ferromagnetism is permanent magnet.

For more information and clarification about the domains refer to any textbook of Physics or Chemistry Class 12th.
