INCOME TAX OFFICER exam is generally conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Its a great opportunity for you that your examination is going to be held in the month of April and notification generally come in February or march so well prepare for it..as the

1.)exam pattern for this consists of:--


a)General Intelligence:It consists of your ability of reasoning ,how much you can analysis a problem.

b)General English: It consists English Language and will be based on error recognition, fill in the blanks using verbs, preposition, articles etc, vocabulary, spellings, Grammar, sentence-structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, sentence completion, phrases and idiomatic use of words etc

c)Arithmetical Ability: It consists of problems relating to number systems, Computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions,percentages, ratio and proportions, averages, interest, profit & loss, use of tables and graphs, mensuration, time & distance, ratio and time etc

d)General Awareness: It consists of the general awareness of the environment around you and its application to society,

knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect .
The test will also include History, Geography, Economic, General policy, Scientific Research etc.


2.)ELIGIBLITY

1.Qualification:

a)you should have any degree of a recognized University, or equivalent.
as you have done graduation in B.Com ,so you are positively eligible.

2.Age:

a:Your age should not be not less than 18 yers and not greater than 27 years on the first July of the year of examination

b) The age limit for the posts of Inspector of Income Tax, is 18-27 years as on March 2011

3.Physical Standards (Minimum)

a)Height :157.5cm
b)Chest :81cm ,fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cm
c)Physical Test:
i)Walking:1600 meters in 15 minutes
ii)Cycling:8 Km in 30 minutes

Eligibility
Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on the first July of the year of examination. The upper age limit is relaxable in respect of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes Other Backward Classes, Departmental candidates and such other categories of persons as may be decided from time to time.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must hold degree of a recognized University, or equivalent.

Physical Standards: For the posts of Inspector of Central Excise and Preventive Officer, candidates will have to satisfy the following minimum physical standards, failing which they will not be eligible for appointment.

(a) Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Male candidates)

(i) Physical Standards (Minimum)

Height 157.5 cms
Chest 81 cms (fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cms

Relaxable by 5 cms in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, Kumaon Region, Nagaland Tribes and members of ST

(ii) Physical Test:

Walking 1600 metres in 15 minutes

Cycling 8 Km in 30 minutes

(b) Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Lady Candidates)

(i) Physical Standard:

Height 152 cms
Weight 48 Kg

Height relaxable by 2.5 cm and weight by 2 kg for Gorkhans, Garhwalis, Assamese, Kumaon region and Nagaland Tribes and members of ST

(ii) Physical Test:

Walking 1 km in 20 minutes

Cycling 3 km in 2

you have to prepare a lot to get through it as it has got a very bright career ahead.

EXAM PATTERN:

3.)general awareness and
4.)Arithmetic ability

ELIFIBILITY:
YOU SHOULD BE A GRADUATE FROM ANY STREAM FROM ARECOGNIZED UNIVERSITY.

AGE:
18-27 years

You also need to be physically strong and the things you require are :

To become Income Tax officer you have to pass the Civil Services Exam conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC). Minimum qualification for taking the exam is any Bachelors Degree. Since you are good in maths and accounts, it would be good for you to do a B.Com.

Eligibility of Income Tax Officer:-

1. Educational Qualification

To be eligible for becoming an Income Tax Officer one should hold a Bachelor's degree of any stream.

2. Age limit:-The candidate must have attained the age of 18 years on 1st
July of the year of examination and must not have attained 27
years of age on that date.

The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
The upper age limit is also relaxed in favor of certain categories of employees working under the Government of India and Defense Services Personnel.

Process to become an Income Tax Officer:-

Step 1:-As a first step the aspirant has to procure the “Application Form”
along with required information from the employment newspaper generally published in the month of April. sent the filled Application form to the regional centers as mentioned.

Note:- The notification for the examination with relevant details regarding rules and syllabus is published in the month of April in the 'Employment News' / 'Rozgar Samachar' , 'Gazette of India', and in some leading Newspapers of the country.

Step 2:-Preliminary Examination

In the month of May or June the aspirants have to take the “Preliminary examinations” consisting of two papers. The papers are on:

Subject:- General Intelligence and General Awareness (Part A)
Arithmetic(Part B)
Note:- This exam is just a qualifying exam for the Final exam and scores obtained in this exam are not added to make the final result.

Step 3:- Main Examination

Those candidates who are declared qualified in the “Preliminary examination” are supposed to take the final exam.

Final examination will consists of two part .Part A will be of written examination and second Part B will be of Personality Test.

Subject:-General Studies,English,Arithmetic,Language ,
Communication Skill and writing

Step 4:-Personality Test

Once you are through the final stage is the interview. The aspirants are grilled in the interview to test their personality and mental ability. Then the final list of the successful candidates is prepared

Eligibility criteria for Income tax Officer:

1. Educational qualification- Bachelor's degree from any stream

2. Age- Candidate must have attained the age of 18 years on 1st july of the year of examination and must not have attained the age of 27 years on that date.

Procedure to become an Income Tax Officer-

Step-I: Procure application form and required information from the employment newspaper generally published in the month of april. The exam is conducted by SSC i.e Staff Selection Commission.

Step-II:
Preliminary Examination: This exam is conducted in the month of may or june.
It consists of two papers

(b) Arithmetic (PART-B)- 100 questions of 100 marks.


Step-III:
Main Examination: Candidates qualified in the preliminary exam becomes eligible for the main exam.
Main Exam consists of two part. PART A will be of written examination and PART B will be of personality test.

Subjects-
(a) General Studies (200 marks, duration 3 hours)
(b) English (100 marks, duration 2 hour 20 minutes)
(c) Arithmetic (200 marks, duration 4 hours)
(d) Language (100 marks, duration 2 hour 20 minutes)
(e) Communication skill and writing (200 marks, 2 hour 20 minute)


Step-IV:
Personality Test: This is the final part, in this interview is conducted. The interviewer checks the mental ability and personality of the candidate through this interview.

Candidates who are applying for the post of Income tax officer must appear for the SSC exam. The basic qualification required to apply for the SSC is a degree from a recognized University or its equal. The candidates must be atleast 18 years and not more than 27 years at the time of applying ( age relaxation is available for the candidates belonging to the backward classes).
