Re: What exactly does IIT JEE and AIEEE mean? How to go about to join Merchant Navy?
The IIT JEE and AIEEE have now been replaced with an exam system with 2 layers - JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced). JEE Main, along with 40% weightage scored in class XII will be considered for admission to engineering institutions controlled by AICTE. This will also decide eligibility to JEE Advanced if you are in first 1.5 lakh and also within top 20% percentile of your board (i.e. class 12), for admissions to IITs.
For career in merchant navy, there are various positions you can compete in the sector. The qualifications required are different for different positions. I would like to refer to refer to this article at Daily Student Career Articles for detail information about career in merchant navy. You may also find some latest information about JEE (Joint Engineering Entrance Exam) in other pages of the same site. |

Dear Friend
IIT JEE stands for the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance examination and the AIEEE stands for the All India Engineering Entrance examination. Both of these are the entrance examinations which were conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology and Central Board of Secondary education respectively for the selection of candidates for the different engineering colleges like Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology etc. But from the year 2013 there will be no IIT JEE ,AIEEE and in place of these a common entrance examination called ISEET that stands for the Indian Science Engineering Eligibility test will be conducted . Now coming to how to join the Joining Merchant Navy: Previously entrance to merchant navy was given on the basis of rank secured in the IIT JEE exam. T.S Chanakya is the best place for the merchant navy. There are three courses that are : >>Nautical science >>Marine engineering >>Diploma courses. You will have to give the written test and personal interview in order to join the Merchant Navy if you have not appeared for the ISEET exam as now admission to this course will be based on ranks secured in MAIN and Advanced exam. Hope the information will definitely help you .If you want any more clarification or you have any other query please leave it here. all the best for your career. aashisranjan784 |
