What is the minimum requirement for IPS?
i have completed my diploma in ece after 10th and then i completed my graduation btech in ece from singhania university which is a deemed university .
i do not completed my 12 . is this possible to appear in the ips exam please tell me |

The acronym for IPS is Indian Police Services. The eligibility criteria required for IPS examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in any discipline from any accredited college or university. * Final year contendors of graduation are also eligible for this examination. * Age limit- 21-30 yrs. * Age relaxation- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contendors. * Nationality- Indian. * Physically and mentally fit. Hi,
Since you have completed graduation ( B.tech ), you are eligible to give IPS exam. UPSC conducts IPS exam evry year and it is same as IAS exam. Eligibility to sit for IPS exam - You should be a graduate from a recognized university. Your age should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years, if you belong to a general category If you belong to OBC category, then your age should be between 21 years to 33 years. If you belong to SC / ST category, then your age should between 21 years to 35 years. You will have to qualify three stages to become an IPS officer. Prelims Mains Medical examination/ Interview. Preliminary exam is also known as CSAT and it is objective type. Main exam is subjective type. After qualifying both, you will sit for an interview, followed by a medical examination. Anybody who have bachelors degree in any stream is eligible to apply in IPS exam If you want to become an IAS officer for that you have to apply civil services exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam Will be held in Three Round . 1. IPS - Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer, one has to crack Civil Service exam conducted by UPSC every year.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness. Apart from this the candidate wishing to join IPS should have minimum prescribed Physical requirement such as:- HEIGHT:- General/OBC Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm. Yes you can definitely appear in the IPS Exam if you have completed graduation in any discipline from any recognized college/university. one thing i want to tell you that to gain the eligibility for the civil services exam , you need a Bachelors degree and there is no importance given to 12th board. So , if you have done diploma in ECE after 10th instead of 12th board , even then you can apply for the civil services exam. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Exam every year through which you can join the Indian Police Services (IPS).
