NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted twice time in year by UGC.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university are eligible for NET exam. General and OBC candidates should hold 55% and above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

Age criteria for NET exam:-

For JRF Post :-Your age should be below 28 years.

For Lectureship Post :-There is no age criteria.

NET stands for the National Eligibility Test. University Grant Commission (UGC) conducts this exam twice time in a year for the following two posts that are:

1). JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) and
2). Lectureship post.

Candidates with master degree or post graduation degree in hand can apply for this exam. However, final year candidates are also eligible to sit for this examination.

Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in their PG or masters (In case of SC/ST category it is minimum 50% marks).

If you want to apply for the JRF post then your age should not exist 28 years. Age relaxation are applicable for OBC/SC/ST category candidates up to 5 years on upper age.

There is no any upper age limit for lectureship post.
