Sir,can you please tell me when ODISHA SLET 2012-2013 will be conducted. Kindly inform me about the month of its notification.

Sir, i am have completed computer master degree from Odisha.I want to know when the SLET exam will be conducted for Odisha students?

There is no such thing as Odisha SET entrance exam. For your information, Odisha is one of the few states that still do not conduct State Eligibility Test as recommended by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development.

In fact recently the state government has announced to start holding the State Eligibility Test. But it won't be conducted this year. The Odisha SET exam will be conducted from next year onwards.

Navin Patnaik, who is the Chief Minister of Odisha, has given approval for the SET entrance exam. This will ensure that from now onwards only eligible candidates are given lectureship job. So far there wasn't any entrance exam for the same.

Now the state government will contact University Grants Commission and seek permission to conduct the Odisha SET entrance exam. You will have to wait till next year to get clearer picture about the State Eligibility Test.

One thing is for sure, Odisha will also have to keep the eligibility criteria same as for the National Eligibility Test.


NET Eligibility

1. The candidate must be Indian citizen.

2. He/She should have obtained post graduation degree.

3. Minimum of 55 percent marks in post graduation.

4. SC/ST need 50 percent marks.

5. Final year students can also apply.

6. Subject for exam will be determined by your PG degree.

7. There is no upper age limit for lectureship.


In the meantime Odisha Public Service Commission will hire the eligible candidates for lectureship in the state. The notification has been issued for over 250 vacancies and if you are interested, better apply as soon as possible. Check the local newspapers for the notification from Odisha Public Service Commission.
