SCRA stands for Special Class Railway Apprentices and this examination is conducted by UPSC to the recruitment of candidates in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. The Notification of this examination will be Published in the employment Newspaper OR in the UPSC Official website and the Notification of next year examination will be declared in October 2012.

When the Notification Published it will be Updated in the official website of UPSC.

Eligible candidates may fill the application form online only, Because no offline application form facility is provided by UPSC.

To apply for this examination you must have complete your Intermediate examination or Graduation with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.

Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination.

You must have attained the age of 17 years and not more than 21 years to appear for SCRA Examination.

The examination is Objective, so please prepared well because the Notification will be Published soon and for more details check official website:

SCRA application forms date can be known through SCRA notification which will be available from 22.Oct' 2011 on http://upsc.gov.in.
Though Last Date For RECEIPT Of SCRA 2012 Entrance Application Forms is known and is 21 Nov' 2011 (Monday).

Date of Commencement of SCRA 2012 Exam is 29 January'2012 (Sunday)

The details eligibility criteria for SCRA exam are as follows....

UPSC SCRA Eligibility Criteria:

special class railway apprentice (SCRA) exam conducts by union public service commission -upsc once in a year. The exam notification releases in March month and exam conducts in July month to recruit the vacancies in mechanical department of Indian Railways

Age: A candidate must have attained the age of minimum 17 years and must not have attained the age of 21 years .

(a)The Age relaxation able for SC, ST’S candidates 5 years

(b)Age relaxation able for OBC candidates 3 years

(c)Age relaxation able for 3 years in case of defence services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or disturbed area.

(d) 5 years Age relaxation able for Ex-service men including commissioned officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of a assignment of 5 years military service .

Educational Qualifications:

(i)The candidate must have passed in the first or second division in the intermediate or an equivalent examination of a recognised university or board with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.

Graduates with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as their degree subjects may also apply.

(ii)The candidate must have passed in the first or second division in the higher secondary(12years)examination under 10+2 pattern of school education with Mathematics and at least one of the subject Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
