Can a boy apply for Indian Navy if he is from Commerce background? As he is in process to complete his FY B.Com. What should be done for the Internship for Navy? Doing any extra certification course will be enough?

No, you are not eligible for recruitment as a Navy officer. The eligibility to appear in NDA examination for recruitment as an officer the required qualification is that candidate must have passed 12th or appearing with a recognized board.

The age limit to appear in the examination is 16.5-19.5 years. Only male candidates are eligible to appear in the examination who have passed with PCM.

You will be also not eligible for appearing in the CDS examination after completion of a bachelor degree in commerce.

For joining Indian navy qualification is 12th Class pass with Physics and Mathematics as subjects which must be done by a recognized State Education Board or a University.

But don't worry you have an option,you can try after graduation.For that you need to apply for CDS exam and write the CDS examination.

Eligibility for CDS exams are as below:

Educational qualification

Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy– Graduate in any stream from a recognized university will be eligible.

Indian Naval Academy– A degree holder in Engineering from a recognized university/Institution will be eligible.

Air Force Academy– Bachelor of Engineering or a degree holder from any recognized university with Physics and Mathematics at intermediate (10+2) level.
