No only knowledge of speaking kannada language is not enough. Candidate must have the full knowledge of kannada language and he or she must know read as well as write that language. Only speaking is not sufficient for jobs in other state in bank exams. In notification it is clear that candidate must know to read and write the local language.

# Candidates who are applying for bank jobs in Karnataka state must know how to read, write and speak Kannada language and only speaking of Kannada is not enough.
# And to test the knowledge of candidate in Kannada language, banks(IBPS and SBI) will conduct the language proficiency test.
# And the educational qualification required to apply for bank jobs in Karnataka state is Graduation in any stream from government approved college or university.
# Age limit to apply for bank clerk post is 21-28 years and for Bank PO post is 21-30 years and age relaxations are as followed by Reserve Bank of India rules and policies.
# Selection procedure of clerk post in banks is written test conducted in 2 stages and Language Proficiency Test. And for Bank PO post is preliminary exam, main exam and personal interview.
# Banks will test the Kannada language knowledge of the candidate at the time of personal interview or language proficiency test.
# For further information please visit www.sbi.co.in and www.ibps.in
