I was not having Hindi in 10th class, because french was my fifth subject.

Am I eligible for government job?

Yes, you are eligible for applying Government Jobs.

Minimum Educational Qualifications for Government Jobs :

1. 10th Pass (SSC or Equivalent)
2. 12th Pass (HSC, 10+2 or Equivalent) from a Recognized State Board of Education or Institution.

But you will not find many Jobs on 10th Basis, better to Pursue Class XII to get a Good Job.

Yes you are eligible for any kind of government jobs.. it is not mandatory that you Hindi as a subject in 10th.. any language of 8 th schedule of Indian constitution can eligible
But there special type of job which demand for specific language like hindi

There are following job.
1.SSC level exam
2.defence force Army ,Navy or Air Force .
3. Railway offere many jobs in which Hindi subject is not mandatory.

Definitely you can get government job if you don't have hindi subject in your 10th board.
